Morning all, still pouring here and some of the country roads on the way to work are partially flooded. I was reading through last nights postings and came across the Question above from Ak. I see nobody yet has answered the conundrum, I'm sure the money should not go to the new company formed by the new buyers, surely the money should go to the creditors, if anyone does know the answer I too like Ak would be interested to know. I got to see the game last night, I was pleased to see City beat Utd for many similar reasons to Dan but most especially because I can't stand that cheating, ignorant, spoilt brat Rooney. I was watching Sky Sports News last night about 6 just after I got in and was reading the banner headlines that come up at the bottom, when it got to the football nearly every section from Championship down had about court cases, arrests & impending prosecution by Footballers either for assault, sexual assault & various other sex crimes - what is the matter with these people and how soon people forget, seems MK is now a hero in the Midlands and his transfer one of the main reasons for Coventry being relegated. Do you think he still goes out night clubbing having taught doris how to treat women in public?
The money from a sell on clause would go to the company that owned the contract. I would expect the player contracts to be sold to a new company without debt so that it was available in the future but that could be challenge din the Courts as existing creditors could argue they are being defrauded - it would need clever accountant s and legal teams to get this right.
I would suggest all incomings from player sales will go towards the CVA - so football creditors first, and then split up between the rest of the creditors. The debts are so high that any new owners won't see any of that money (or shouldn't, anyway)!
Kev - I think there is a suggestion that selling cheap now but with later sell on clauses - properly structured could be a way of reducing payments to existing creditors - not sure if it would work and as I said it wold need clever legal and finance teams to set it up
I understand what you are saying, and no doubt they will try and dodge payments when and where they can.... I guess it all depends on the wording of the CVA. If it is a certain amount of pence in the pound, as long as they pay that then the rest of the money would be theirs, but often they put caveats in there in case of a 'windfall'. One I heard for Leeds all those years back was if they got promoted within something like 10 years, they would have to pay a larger % of pence in the £ to their creditors.
Not heard from Iceland today, whether the Weather is cold or colder and gasping for a cuppa. Did Ak say he was away today and I've missed it?
Wow. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-17898029 I did not expect them to go that far. As for Barmby, he needs to get his head down and accept that Hull are in the same situation we found ourselves in four years ago. I'm struggling to think of circumstances in which it would be okay to suspend him though.
Open question: does anyone else think it would be a good idea to have a thread for all non-Watford football?
Am i heading the same way as Leo with dodgy eyes?? I cannot see exactly what he did. He simply said that he would need some money to invest in the squad if they are to return to the premiership. He has not slandered the owner or been overly critical. He simply voiced his opinion on what was needed. Or am i missing something??
Why not just create one? Then if people want it they will use it, if not then it flops and drops away.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/...ite-guilty-verdict-over-banking-collapse.html I found this for you and I think this expression is correct FFS! Either he is guilty or not. To find him not guilty of all charges except one little one is stupid.
Afternoon all. Just heard some tragic local news. A shopkeeper in Old Northwood High Street was knocked off his bike while doing his paper round on Sunday morning...and died this afternoon from his injuries...so very sad. A friend of mine knows him well...and is devastated. Anyone got something happy to report.?..it's all a bit too sad atm
I used to live just round the corner (until 2004 in fact) and often bought a paper in the High Street. Sad to hear this...
You may know him then Theo... http://northwood.uxbridgegazette.co.uk/2012/05/shopkeeper-dies-in-hospital-af.html
Always sad when someone dies in such a manner. I had dinner a couple of weeks ago with the widow and son of the friend who took his own life. It was really quite strange as the son looks like and has the same mannerisms as his father. Catch a quick glimse of him and you would think it was all a bad dream. Anyway good news. The sun has been shining all day and my septic tank and grease trap have been cleaned up ready for the inspection on Thursday. My potatoes are all up and look better than some years. The grass has been strimmed all the way from the lane to the near field so as to keep unwanted tics at bay. The water is heating up nicely ready for a long soak that I really need if there is any chance of me getting out of bed in the morning. The Bordeaux is in good condition and only costs me a couple of euros. More bad news. Mme has a birthday next week and I don't have a clue what to get her. She did not seem that impressed when I suggested that she might like a new socket set seeing as I can't find mine to lend her.
lol thanks for the laugh M Frenchie. Good good news, how about treating Mme Frenchie to some pampering?
