Good Morning all, day off work today got to finish a quiz, I got conned into writing and presenting a quiz for the local primary school to raise money for the school funds. When I say conned I started doing it 30 odd years ago when the kids were little and seem to have been stuck with it since. It just gets harder to do something different each year, however there is always a Watford question somewhere and when reading the answer it is always followed by a bellow of 'Come on you 'orns', mind you it's not always a quiz, I've written a few Murder evenings and done other audience participation evenings. So I had better go and get on with it, but hope to pop in later for a coffee Ak, if there's one going now you've finished you last thread. Thank you so much for all the other's you have produced in the past, they have been marvelous and the envy of all the other Forums I'm certain

Morning all from a dull morning in Bandit Country - Tesco done, so now to start the list of chores proposed by Mrs W_Y. Have a short break to take Little Miss W_Y to get her nails done and pop into Waitrose and a nice little local wine shop to see if they have something a little special for the week-end. Then back to full on cleaning, dusting, polishing, ballon blowing etc. etc. Will be gagging about 17.00 for an early doors pint... Thanks for the frothy AK - perfect timing
morning all, thanks for the caramel latte Ak! Hoping to get a game of squash in today, but first, it's time to put the wording in the invitations for the Bat Mitzvah, yay! Off to the printer i go ...if only i had all the blinkin' addresses, it would be soooo easy! lol
Morning all What's happened to global warming? It's April and we're getting sunshine and frequent showers. Surely it should be either a heatwave or a foot of snow? I see Kevin Poole, now a youthful 48, has announced his retirement as Burton's keeper...an example to us all!
That is good news.... any bets he comes on for a run as sub?.....of course.. after we are 3-0 up LOL!
He has however ruled out doing the sort of end-of-season blooding we saw under the two previous managers, pointing out that when players have shown that they were worthy of a go this season, they got a go.
I see that the local labour party is trying to win a few votes. The party said it would also work with Watford FC to help complete the Vicarage Road stadium.
They can promise to build the new stadium on the moon for all it matters. If they win every single seat available they'll be three short of an overall majority and one short of the Lib Dems' tally. The next election is in two years' time, at which point if Bassini is being straight with us we will be most of the way there already.
Couldn't agree more with SD on the blooding of the kids if they are good enough yes but until then they have to bide there time( I know one of our regulars shall we say will strongly disagree shall we say) But on Steve McGinn I am sure he will get a run out towards the end of the game, when they announce he has just signed a new contract with us
How do you qualify for a medal if your team wins the champions league? Do you need to be named in the team to play in the final or play in a certain number of games or is there a combination for a young player who comes out of the reserves and plays in the final or an established player who injures himself the day before the final. If this is applied for John Terry can we get a cup final medal for Wilf Rostron?
I agree with that approach during the season, but not on the last day. We haven't all been professional footballers, but we have all been teenagers. A big part of anyone's development is realising that what you have previously considered as working hard might not take you as far as you first thought. Even kids with fantastic attitudes need to learn that lesson in one form or another, and for some of the very best, showing them why you don't feel they're quite ready is the right approach.
I did read of a Scottish international who played in the world cup and several other games for his country, but never received a cap. It seems that the thrifty SFA only gave caps for home international games unlike all of the other FAs. Years later they changed their attitude and gave him one, but unfortunately he had died by then.
Thanks guys and gals. Im glad you like the vid. It was a welcome break after a day of slaving over the dissertation. Today has been busy and its only half way done!! I was up at 7 for breccie for the first time in weeks (breakfast that is), then scanning and sorting the parcels ready for delivery. Then i had to help mum deliver them, all 70 of them. Then got home had a packet of hula hoops for lunch and am now in uni waiting for my friend to bring in my bound dissertation so i can hand it in. Then the rush home to ref the football before kicking back doing another assignment and then driving down to watford tonight as I dont wish to be driving at 7:00.
We had snow up here for an hour or so before lunch - it melted straight away but remained bitterly cold. I rugged up at home time expecting it to still be cold but had to 'rug down' again as it was so warm - around 14C. Crazy weather!
I am thankful every day that those idiots are not on here!! Someone questioning the "Stanmore Businessman" quote was funny. But i have to say there is no pleasing some people. He could re-do the pitch, the stands, invest in players, pay off all our debt next month and announce that he is paying for money from legitimate sources but they would still complain.
