And look where Blackpool are - thanks, mainly, to their poor away form. Makes Friday all the more mouth-watering!

As someone who has enjoyed Test Match Special for many years, I thought that maybe we should have a champagne moment from our games.

Yesterday there would have been a choice of two from what I heard. Jon Marks who normally can give a calm and clear description of what is happening lost it twice and became almost lost for words. The first one was when Big Chris scored his second goal, but for me it has to be the double save by Kuszczak, when Jon had called it a goal and was quite incredulous that it had been saved.

I've just discovered that the game on Friday is a 'Family Day". That is the end of any play-off hopes we had then.

Morning all - nice start to the day in West West London, although it was a bit nippy....nice short week this week...

Could do with a couple of lightly boiled dippy eggs with some wholemeal soldiers - I am just recovering from the excess of saturday and need some energy!

Morning all, bright and sunny as expected.;)

What is this I have been reading about snow in the UK over Easter? I am due to make one of my few excursions over next week and could well do without that. :(

I have been reading a bit about a speech that the Pompey administrator gave, where he claimed that 33% of all Championship clubs are still paying over 100% of their income out in players wages. His view was that the sooner clubs realised that this was not sustainable the better.

    Watford as well?

    Almost
    Attendance average 12.500 x ticket GBP25 = match income GBP312.500
    match income GBP321.500 x matches 23 = total income GBP7.187.500
    total income GBP7.187.500 / weeks 52 = week spend GBP138.221
    week spend GBP138.221 / player staff 27 = average money GBP5119
No tax, police, insurance, bank costs, not playing staff, junior playing staff, club shop sales, prize money(?), etc.

There are many factors which I do not include but if the salary cap is GBP5.000 our salaries are lower than match income.

A bit parky up here this morning - 0C - but no snow yet - it's due later this afternoon :( I think we had our 3 days of summer early this year, all last week. <wah>

OFH - I think that it's not just the clubs who need to realise that forking out over 100% of their income on player wages is not sustainable. The agents and players themselves have to come to that realisation too - if a few more followed John Eustace's lead then things might start to improve.

    Morning all

Very frosty early on but a bright sunny morning now. Time to cut the grass and then finish the last Kurt Wallander novel which is very well written but not designed to cheer anyone up. Not to be read after a home defeat...which of course is in itself is a rare thing these days...

OFH - As BB mentions, it is due to snow in Scotland today and start to move south across the border and spread to NE England tomorrow, but mainly limited to east of The Pennines. It is not expected to venture to The Midlands as snow, but there will be wintery showers further south. So a bit cold, but not too much risk to travel south of The Midlands.
I certainly hope so, I am going down to the south coast on Thursday to start packing up Little Miss W_Y's stuff for her move back to The Shire...staying overnight and then straight to The Vic for the Good Friday game and then straight to the Outlaws for the MIL's 80th birthday celebrations...busy days

If I recall correctly, it snowed on Good Friday 1974 or 1975...I had been out clubbing out and stayed around a mates house to find out it had snowed. I was going up to see my big sis who has living near Crewe at the time...my old dad was none too happy to drive up in his shiny Triumph Dolomite in the snow!
