~Yeah the heating still works as far as i know. But i would also find it hard to believe that the full time ground staff would let it freeze. I worried before due to the lack of work on in, but now i am less worried.
One can run into another here Charlie. Start at mid-day, finish about four, then a twenty minute drive back, and we will start again about six. All in the company of my Forest friend, so should be a good day.
I have just noticed that i have made over 5000!! posts on here since i joined. please log in to view this image
Morning all! It was a mad day Dan, but i got Little Miss Hornette's room finished late last night, except for the imminent delivery of blinds ...now she just has sort out the rest of her stuff Blinking cold here today and i had a whole lovely day lined up but it's all cancelled, so i'm staying in with my feet up! Who'd have thunk. Must run down the road later and get my new glasses, great excitement! I do love my Fridays off!
I have the same situation with eldest in that it's his time to choose his A-levels and as he's known what he wants to do since he was in primary school, working out which A-levels to do is nice and easy, the problem is where. Most of the state-run secondaries in Jersey don't do A-levels but he does have an option of a school which only takes from 14 onwards and which a lot of his friends are at - he should've also gone, but there was a clerical error (officially) that meant the marks he attained were wrongly stated in his application so it was considered that he wasn't a good enough student to go there. The other option will cost over £4k pa. I must admit, having been to both schools, the second one would be better for him as one of the Physics teachers is an aeronautical engineer which is what he wants to be - firstly going into the RAF, then designing F1 cars.
Well that's great! Miss H knows she wants to be a child psychologist and has wanted that for years too. The trouble is whether universities will count Psychology A level as a science, as she needs one for the degree and the others don't come naturally. If she had to choose a science, she'd probably choose physics, but it's quite numbers based and so she'd need a A in maths GCSE which is a big ask...dominoes seem to be falling everywhere at the mo!
H - A suggestion, check out what the Uni's want as a starting point and work backwards, that way you will at least know you are heading in the right direction. What about Biology as a Science? I found it the easiest...
she isn't so interested in Biology...she enjoyed chemistry but her mock result was a disappointment so that's put her off...she googled universities last night to see what their requirements would be and some count Psychology and some don't...the worst thing is that they had the open session last night at the school but the choices have to be in by Thursday...they haven't given us much time
A BPS course is a course which is accredited by the British Psychological Society. Back now after rushing home from uni to help mum as her car would not start. So then did the 45 parcels for her and then dashed off to ref for my brother fir the first time in 3/4 weeks.
Dan I am shocked to find out that you ref at any level, the hassle you give the ref and his assistants each and every game then you turn out to be one of them
Yeah. Its great fun. And it gives me all the more reason to have a go lol. There is only one of me yet there is three of them. If they cant get a decision right between them then there is no hope.
My brother-in-law and I once got stuck on a tube full of Newcastle fans on their way to the Cup Final. Asked why he wasn't going too, my brother-in-law said he hadn't a ticket but did enjoy football, being a county referee. For the next five stops the whole compartment sang "Who's the bas***d in the black" without a break.
So John Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy - for the time being at least. Thoughts anyone? Much as I dislike him as a character, I feel it was the wrong decision - presumption of innocence and all that. To quote David Bernstein "This decision in no way infers any suggestion of guilt in relation to the charge made against John Terry." From that, it would appear that not only does he not know the difference between 'imply' and 'infer' - but neither does he know the general football public. IMO most will infer exactly the opposite - well, that seems to be the view up here anyway. Wouldn't be surprised if he gives them the one-fingered salute and gives up international football.
I think it was the only decision they could make. He shouldn't have had it back in the first place, but that aside, if he is found guilty, we've had a racist as Captain of our England team, and i don't see how they can take that risk. Ray Wilkins said this morning that if he doesn't play, we won't win anything...i think that's a great challenge to the others! if he doesn't play it'd be a loss, but not an insurmountable problem, perhaps Capello will take the opportunity to get the old out, and bring in the new!
