It's all to do with trying a Casein free, Gluten Free diet. Going to start with removing Casein from his diet, which will be easiest as it will just be a case of changing from normal milk to Jersey cows milk initially. Something to do with Friesian cows being grain feed, whereas Jersey cows are grass feed. Did a bit more digging and there is something called A1 and A2 milk. Recent studies seem to suggest that A1 beta casein found in milk is linked to type 1 diabetes, heart disease, schizophrenia and autism. A2 milk is also good for IBS sufferers according to some research. If you ever get a chance look up 'A2 milk UK' on google and some of the info is very interesting reading. (sorry lesson over)

just done a bit more digging and it appears that Guernsey milk is better that Jersey milk (sorry Barry), so looks like I might have to try and track Guernsey milk down.

Try looking up Guernsey Dairy online and you should get a phone number and you could ask them where over there they supply it to.

Tesco's do a Channel Islands milk which is a combination of Jersey and Guernsey milks, so should be the perfect solution. If not will have to research "how to keep a Guernsey cow"!!

Sandy - one question, how can you be sure that the milk comes from grass fed cows and not grain fed?

Mrs W_Y has an intolerance to a number of things and one is cow dairy products, she is fine with goats and sheeps products and uses Soya alternatives, but I am interested in what you have uncovered. She is also intolerant to Corn (you will be amazed at how much food is padded to Corn Starch), generic vegetable oils and some nuts. When she removed them from her diet a few years ago made a huge improvement to her health, so I am not surprised at what you have found out.

So far I'm having to take the word of the person who gave the course last night. But I'm trying to find out as much info about the differences in the types of milk. Looking into it further I'm not sure if it really is about what the cows eat but more the actual type of cow it comes from. Guernsey and Jersey cows (Guernsey more so) seem to product milk with high levels of A2 proteins.

Have a look at this link and see if it explains it better http://www.fedupwithfoodadditives.info/factsheets/FactA2milk.htm <ok>

There is so much info on the web and as usual some will conflict, but if changing something as simple as this help then I'm all for it. And if not, we can easily go back to normal milk and no harm has been done.

Paraphrasing a little bit, but 5Live are reporting that NHS Hertfordshire has finalised plans to systematically murder smokers and fat people.

I won't get myself too worked up about it until I've established the full facts, but if that is in any way inaccurate, I suggest they sue the BBC.

They probably just took the common sense decision in that they won't offer dsngerous surgery to morbidly obesse people unless they loose the weight.

If that is the extent of it, it is indeed common sense. And despite generally getting it right in the long run, the BBC are known for sensationalist headlines. But if carried out to the extent currently being portrayed by 5Live, it would amount to systematic murder.

Common sense maybe - but refusing help whilst willingly taking their money is a bit rich. :(

That sounds very interesting! I would far rather, on my new and rather effective diet, have grass fed cow's milk rather than corn fed...coz it'd be lower in carbs!

Well done Al! :)...he's very funny, and i'm now following #bigchrisiwelumo as well, should be a giggle!

    oh dear...that doesn't sound good!

We're on a new server, and apparently Mick thinks it's because of the new server but he's looking into it!

Liverpool and Man City are two of the top six clubs in the EPL, yet tonight's match has so far been utter dross. Words fail me over Balotelli too - so glad he ain't a Watford player.
