can get closer to the crud with without risk of pulling it up using a filter on the end of the syphon thus getting a little more from each batch ! On a 40 litre batch this equates to about 3-4 more litres! With my kit any how which is basically large plastic barrels with taps in them ! Also if you like to experiment with spices or other ingredients of a more solid nature you stop these going into the bottles!

Your kit is well bigger than mine, so to speak I use 2 gallon glass flagons - wouldn't use plastic for wine, I reckon it spoils the flavour - and rarely get too much sediment in them & I don't bottle until the mix stops throwing sediment. Don't do too much these days, but at the height of production in Oz, I had 6 such flagons on the go at any one point in time
Yep my dad does it that way , I started off with little plastic buckets for fementation and have a couple of old oak casks for secondary fermentation and flavouring stages ! , Because of the price of wine here , I found that I needed to "up production" then friends over here started getting a taste for it as well! Still got a bottle from my first attempt its now a 5 yr old and probably vinegar by now was saving it for a special occasion , like watford winning something!! reckon it will get a few more years lying down yet!

yeah preservatives were added in the first batch , but not since , as like you it doesnt last long enough ! and I dont like using chemicals if I dont have too the first one I followed the instructions to the letter! GT is on channel 5 for the fulham game !

Would suggest from Mrs N's folks, but the first 3 would be Trent Bridge, Meadow Lane and City Ground unless the Panthers are closer.
