Some supporters genuinely believed we didn’t need to replace Burge this year. Madness. Absolute madness.

Burge is pretty much at his peak now. He is a league be keeper.

Hoffman is someone who is as good as Burge now but with lots of potential to be a lot better. I say sign him and he can grow with us on our journey back up the leagues.

If a keeper had made that save in the premier league Sky would be ****ing themselves silly over it.

Do I think the Hoffman is better than Burge yes.

Do I think Burge is a decent keeper yes.

Cognitive dissonance, it isn't! As the two opinions are not mutually exclusive.
Burge is perfectly adequate for League One. He will make mistakes and he has flaws, but that is why he's a L! keeper.
I don't think Burge would be the difference between promotion or failure.

I’m never sure about these “buy after loan” clauses. We had one with M’Vila and didn’t sign him. Every loan of a player from a league outside the uk must have an option to buy. Doesn’t mean he’ll sign.

hope he does. But I’m not getting my hopes up. He’s destined for bigger and better things imo

Dont all international loans have this option to buy? Isnt that what ****ed us up with the alvarez signing?

Alvarez was an obligation to buy not an option. We had to buy him if we stayed up. He played 4 minutes of football and we stayed up!

this is different I believe. I know that every foreign loan must have one but I don’t know the ins and outs. There will always be something to protect the player too.

Just not getting my hopes up is all

We're run by a different quality of people now man. There's a Gulf of difference between Maggie Byrne and Christian Speakman, and between Ellis Short and KLD.
