I am trying to wean myself off all the medication, but sometimes you just need a little something to take the edge off the pain;) Would prefer natural remedies but nothing works, unless someone out there knows something I don't?

i think natural remedies have it covered for average pain, but you can't beat proper meds for real pain imho...

I agree H , Al will ask Mrs N later for you , she is into her hot stone massage and aromatherapy oils etc , might know something that may help! given me a foul smelling concoction that does seem to ease the arthritis!

I am going to try and get referral to see a surgeon, to see if there is anything they can surgically do to fix my knees. Then I will know once and for all where I am in the way of my treatment plan!

It is my cartlidge which is wearing away on the inside, at my last appointment the physio said some surgeons are experimenting with drilling very small holes in the knee cap to try and encourage regrowth underneath! <yikes>

that funnily enough was what I have heard too , they tried it on Mrs N but her old knee was too badly damaged as well!
The ultimate fix is a new knee! a painfull option but would be worth considering if nothing else works especially if the Raf will pay for it!!
Mrs N `s knee cost about 11000 quid ! thankfully covered by my company health insurance! Oxinium is the material to use lasts upwards of 20 years!

They have told me I am too young to be considered for a replacement knee as it would need doing again when I am older, but the way i look at it is, standard of life now! If they want the best from me why not just frickin do it!!!! I only have less than 6 years to do now!<yikes>

Mrs N was 42! she was told the same by the noggy doctors! ,yet she could hardly walk!! she did some research of her own went to a specialist in Nottingham and the rest is history! Age has nothing to do with it ! the people that told you that probably still use leeches!

The old style knee replacements only lasted 8-10 years these new ones go for well over 20! oxinium is another form of industrial diamond! it will last!!
