Friend out here needed a new knee and he was referred to a surgeon and had an appointment after 10 days. It was thought that he only needed half of one, so the surgeon asked if he would like him to do it the next week. It was done then, and he was getting his physio at home a week after that.
Something to be said for frustrated anger at the world...i've just got off the treadmill for the third time today...
I think I have found the secret weight loss program. Sit around for 6 weeks, do little apart from heaving yourself in and out of a wheelchair, then a bit of walking short distances with crutches. I did cut back a bit on food as I didn't want to have to put more stress on the ankle than necessary. Today I finally had a weigh in and found that I had lost half a stone. As I want to lose the same amount again before the end of the year I could repeat it I suppose, but as I have been given the go ahead tonight to walk around the house without aid, and only need one crutch outside, I think that I will just keep the food intake under control.
I hadn't thought of that but maybe I could write up something on the subject and send it off to the BMJ.
Mme thinks that because I have not been so active my appetite has been reduced. I have always made the journey to the bottle bank, and over the past few weeks she has taken over the duty. She is complaining that she cannot keep up with the supply of empties. Therefore I conclude that there could well be something in the red wine diet.
Well done M Frenchie! I've never understood how people lose weight without realising it...it takes a whole heap of effort for me to lose an ounce! lol...congrats If you knew how you did it (and i'm hoping for your sake it's the red wine thing)...the rest should be a piece of cake (or is that the wrong phrase? ) Haha...that never happens!
I think that someone got there before me: The Red Wine Diet works by having about two glasses of drinks per night--though others suggest a bottle of red this alcoholic beverage per day is needed. Start by eliminating starch or protein for two whole weeks save for berries, pomegranates, walnuts, apples, and lots of greens. Aside from this beverage, these all contain heart-loving organic chemicals which can also be found in dark chocolate. Once two weeks have passed, gradually introduce protein through lean meats. Remember that intake of food which is low in fat is still the best way to go, so try to incorporate this in the diet as much as you can The constant presence of the drink will prevent the feeling of deprivation throughout all the stages; it will only make you feel like you're giving in to guilt-free indulgence. With the Red Wine Diet, you won't need to starve yourself anymore
that sounds even harder than my new diet! Think i'll pass, and just drink a glass of wine when i want one lol..
H, good news my mate has finally copied the spinning DVD's for you, the only thing is 2 of them have not copied correctly so I shall try to do them tonight. The one I saw a bit of looked mental, if you can manage to complete it all the weight will simply slide off you in sweat I will see if these other ones will copy correctly
BB When Mrs N had her new knee 3 years back she had an oxidium one(oxidised zirconium) which was /is the best on the market at the time of her research. When you see your specialist ask him about it ,the medical steel ones wear out after 8-10 yrs this stuff lasts 3 times longer . It is also lighter than the steel ones which makes it a little easier for the muscles to work
Thanks norway - you must have read my mind - I was thinking of trawling through all your posts for that as I remember you mentioning it before. I suppose I may have to go with what the NHS offer though.
