I think I'll stick to exercising the thumb on the remote when the cricket is on - hard enough workout for me.
It's the 1st birthday of the daughter of a couple of my colleagues next weekend and they're holding a "do". (Can't really call it a party - the invites were sent out through Facebook). I decided to cycle up there to find it so I know where I'm going on the day. After the 35 minute cycle there and back, I've decided to go by bus as I'm not sure I want to arrive sweaty and out of breath but it was a good workout anyway.
well done Barry! ....i'm hopefully getting a bike for my birthday (which is rather a big one (the birthday, not the bike lol)...and then i suppose i'll have to use the bloody thing! lol
Then welcome to the world of rock-hard thighs and balloon-sized calf muscles! Is it an outdoor or indoor one that you're hoping for?
oh dear...okay, maybe i should change my mind! I would love an indoor one, but i don't have anywhere to put it ...so...i guess an outdoor one...
Oh Al, by the way, i tried walking backwards on the treadmill today lol..that was a laugh! I had to slow it right down while i got the hang of it..was up to 2 by the end...on an incline of 10, but couldn't keep that up for long! lol..did about 5 minutes...good start though, eh?
Just back from the first session of the exercise referral programme which was relatively easy as he had to judge at which level I should start. I did 12 minutes on the bike at a random level, 5 minutes on a cross-trainer and some light weights - one set worked my shoulders (20 reps of 14kg), one set my chest (20 reps of 10.5kg) and one set my legs (20 reps of 15kg) plus the warm-up and warm-down exercises. The warm-down ones were the sort of stretches you see the team do in their pre-match warm-up.
Just had my second session and did the same exercises as Tuesday and went on a few of the other bits of equipment including the rowing machine.
So much for getting more time to get to the gym this week different job means different job!!! Hopefully next week it will be less hectic and I can get some gym time Saying that I was able to play golf on Wednesday so I guess that counts, if my legs and feet were anything to go by on Wednesday night and yesterday
And again I ask myself if exercise is good for you, why does it cause aches and pains I mean 50 minutes on the exercise bike is hardly anything, but god do I feel it!
i've bought myself (and told Mr H it's my birthday present!) a bike trainer ...so...even though i don't have a bike, i can put Mr H's bike on it, coz i can't ride it, coz i can't reach the floor, but it'll be fine on a bike trainer, and i can pedal for England lol...i'm almost excited about it! lol..i'm so rubbish at cycling, but i see my friends get thin with cycling and i want a go! How's it going with you Al and Barry?
H, I am falling to pieces I have now got tendonitis of my right elbow...................I am going for a lay down in a darkened room It does n't stop me doing an hour on the exercise bike, so far so good. I had my first physio appointment today for my elbow, yet another deep tissue massage not funny Also waiting for an appointment for a MRI on my ankle Maybe I should just be put down, save loads of money
aw, that's pooey ...that's very painful, and deep tissue massage?? Ouchies! Good on you for keeping up with the bike though, proud of you . noo, can't do that, i'd miss you!!
