Well off to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol this morning to have an ultrasound scan on my ankle, hopefully find out once and for all if it is a bone spur that is causing the issue!
A complete waste of time, money and energy! The Doc basically asked what I was doing there and said I should have had a MRI scan instead and that is what he is going to say to my Doctor. So no further forward and now I have to wait to get a MRI scan!
Not their fault though, I did ask the physio about a MRI but he thought an ultrasound scan would pick up the damage! My old physio when I was up in Rutland was beyond excellent, my current one in Bristol basically sucks He has no access to my Med records when I have an appointment and cannot remember what he has, or has not said or done in previous appointments!
Well finally seen the Doctor about getting or needing to have a MRI scan, to find out she wants me to see the ortho team as it has gone on too long Hopefully injections will cure it, otherwise it is under the knife She said a MRI will only confirm what I have known since November that I have bone spurs in my ankle! Bloody Physio's
i did a run today..okay, you could hardly call it a run, it was more like a plodding walk...but it was a start. 1 and a half miles in a very slow 20 minutes...if i did the marathon tomorrow it would take me over 6 hours (if i did my maths right! lol)...i always said i'd want to do a marathon in 5 and a half hours..so, there's my goal ...now i just have to think about doing it seriously! But, i'm sure if i walked some of it it wouldn't be awful....anyone wanna join me?
Of course, I shall just sort out my shift roster and move to somewhere closer??? You know I would if I could
that would have been good Al ...though having had my little trot out today, i might be looking at training for the next 3 years before i can manage the 26.2 miles lol
