Why oh why Dan? It is chilling time not getting all hot and sweaty unnecessarily unless of course it is bedroom gymanstics
Check me out, home from nightshift already made myself a low fat chilli, using turkey mince Well the real reason I use turkey mince is that I don't eat red meat Now getting ready for the RWC SF! Could do with a beer but better not
Real shame the ref ruined the rugby but what a valiant effort from the welsh ,so much more commitment than the english ! Johnson should resign !
Too knackered for exercise and I already ache all over ! sod the diet I need my friend (beer) pissed off tonight ! what with all the sport going the wrong way ,politics and racism at work several beers tonight are on the cards!
Er - how did the ref ruin it? He simply did what all refs have been instructed to do - red card for spear tackles - he had no choice.
seen the challenge on the telly ! BB and lets say he was in the letter of the law , that said I have seen 9/10 tackles similar get a pen and a sin bin ! I think common sense should rule ! ( bit like a player getting booked for taking his shirt off in soccer, its the law but...) A spear tackle is when a player is upended and helped on the way down to land on his head , thus risking the neck and upper spine! Today he landed on his back ! it had rained before hand the ground was soft , no problem ! For me the correct decision would have been a quiet word and a penalty against and maybe a sin binning ! but a straight red imo was completely wrong !
Since I posted this on Thursday, a part of my body is looking slimmer - unfortunately it's not that visible as it's my ankles.
Hope the healthy eating is going well everyone. Keep up the good work and after those encouraging words I'm not going to tell you what I got to eat tonight!
No - a spear tackle is where a player lifts another player into the air then dumps him upside down. In this instance, that's exactly what happened - the French player's head, neck and the top of his spine landed on the ground simultaneously - as shown here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d75L8OQVe6U - giving the ref no choice but to send Warburton off. I say again, there is no discretion for him to have a 'quiet word', muddy pitch or otherwise.
Gonna have to agree to disagree BB I think the welsh were very hard done by and put up one hell of a fight! having 15 against 15 might have swung it for them , but we will never know because a paddy stuck to the letter of the law! Imo yet another area where common sense disappeared, was the guy hurt? did he carry on playing ? If no then it has damaged him and was a citable offence if yes , whats the problem! no more dangerous than what goes on in the scrum! Tackling is part and parcel of the game take out the big hits and you remove some of the substance of the game ! Did the frenchman even try to get him sent off?
