For a limited time only... [absolute maximum one year] Happy New Year people. I hope it's a great one for you. I have one New Year's resolution, which is to actually do the one I proposed to do from Jan 1st of 2015. That was to devote a bare minimum of 15 minutes of concentrated time to guitar playing practice, per day. Incredibly, on declaring that resolution to myself I haven't touched a guitar in 365 days, apart from putting both my electric guitars over my shoulder to show someone that they work, and the little Hiwatt practice amp sounds OK. The old 1970 odd Epiphone acoustic FT-150 sits in its case unloved. The fact is, I'm too damn scared to play the thing these days, because it's in such great condition and I might accidentally damage it. I dropped my old 'Buster' of an acoustic on the tiled kitchen floor and snapped the head off it. I've since glued it back on, but it still needs finishing off properly. So from Jan 1st it's a few days with the Epiphone and then to finish off the old banger super-quick. Happy Birthday 2016.
We should sit down and discuss guitars sometime TSS. I have a collection and, after 40+ years of tinkering, finally signed up for lessons in 2015. Not sure it's made me better, but it makes me practice at least once per week, if only to avoid the look I get from my teacher!
Never made a new years resolution and never will. That way I don't have to be disappointed with myself when I don't keep them. I expect 2016 will be alright though; so long as Donald Trump doesn't become president of the USA there will always be hope for the human race.
My new years resolution........to find more time to do the things my wife and I like to do....and less time for what others want me to do. Errrr is that being a bit selfish?
My resolution is to try and be a nicer and kinder person. I resolve to do so every year but always seem to fail before the decorations are even down.
