    Alternative phrases

PETA has suggested the following can be used instead of meat themed phrases:
    Out: Bring home the bacon
    In: Bring home the bagels
Out: Let the cat out of the bag
    In: Spill the beans
Out: All your eggs in one basket
In: All your berries in one bowl
Out: Open a can of worms
    In: Open Pandora’s box
    Out: Flog a dead horse
    In: Feed a fed horse
    Out: Hold your horses
    In: Hold the phone
Out: Killing two birds with one stone
In: Feeding two birds with one scone
Out: Taking the bull by the horns
In: Taking the flower by the thorns
Out: More than one way to skin a cat
In: More than one way to peel a potato
    Out: Be the guinea pig
    In: Be the test tube

C.unts. Just utter c.unts, "feed a fed horse"? what the f.uck kind of expression is that?

I used to like Peta when they protested against fur coats by having nude birds covered in blood but this sort of nonsense makes me want to take up fox hunting.

This is the problem with organisations like PETA. 99% or vegetarians and around 90% of vegans are decent ****s. It's the ****s like PETA who antagonise people with this kind of ****.

There's fake news and there's news news. I believe this to be the latter, some may not.

A tribunal is to be asked to decide whether veganism is a "philosophical belief" akin to a religion, in a landmark legal action.
Dietary vegans and ethical vegans both eat a plant-based diet. However, ethical vegans try to exclude all forms of animal exploitation, for instance avoiding wearing or buying clothing made from wool or leather, or toiletries from companies that carry out animal testing. They may refer to "companion animals" rather than "pets", and will avoid zoos or other environments where they consider animals are exploited. Mr Casamitjana worked for the animal welfare charity the League Against Cruel Sports and claims that, to his surprise, he discovered it was investing its pension funds in companies that carried out animal testing.
He says he drew this to the attention of his managers. When nothing changed, he informed other employees and was sacked as a result. He is now bringing a legal case, claiming he was discriminated against on the basis of his vegan belief.
"Religion or belief" is one of nine "protected characteristics" covered by the
    Equality Act 2010.
The others, all ranked equally, are:

    • age
    • disability
    • gender reassignment
    • marriage and civil partnership
    • pregnancy and maternity
    • race
    • sex
    • sexual orientation
It is unlawful for an employer to discriminate directly, by treating an employee less favourably than others because of their religion or belief.

This thread is about the Handcart to Hell, a phrase used to express the decline in human civilisation in general or a particular beel anyone may have. I think this chap has every right not to eat meat, not to use animal products and not to see animals suffer for his benefit. Some may say his actions against his employers should be applauded. What I take umbrage at is the move towards individual's choices becoming rights enshrined by law. Nobody forced him to be vegan, he can stop being vegan any time he likes with no fear or repercussion. The Handcart we are currently on is the one where individuals expect the courts to uphold a choice they make into a bone fide belief protected by law. This is a kick in the teeth for people who need protection because they have no choice. Imagine being disabled from birth only to be told the f.ucking hippy sat next to you has the same rights because he eats lentils.

If being a vegan is deemed to be a belief then there is absolutely no reason why the law can't recognise being a f.ucking Jedi or Trekkie/Trecker is also a religion.

Generous offer or Pikeys trying to get publicity?

    https://metro.co.uk/2018/12/04/travellers-accuse-sainsburys-discrimination-food-bank-video-8208338/

A group of travellers trying to film themselves donating to a supermarket food bank claim staff ‘discriminated’ against them by refusing to be in the video. Patrick Fitzharris and his uncle Jimmy went to a Sainsbury’s on Saturday to fill a trolley with tinned and dry food, spending £181. They asked staff to appear on camera accepting the donation – but they declined.
The clip begins with Patrick filming the video in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. He can be heard saying: ‘It was a good gesture, I don’t understand why you couldn’t have done it.’
A female worker then replies by saying: ‘It shouldn’t be about the publicity though should it, it should be about making the good gesture.’ Patrick replies: ‘But that’s the whole point of it it’s the nomination when you’re getting nominated for the homeless you be a big man.

More footage shows Jimmy trying to follow one of the employees saying: ‘I’m going to make a complaint against you and get you sacked. You won’t be the manager of this store for much longer.’

I don't know why you'd spend over £180 on food for charity then threaten to have someone who doesn't want to be filmed with getting them sacked. Any similarities with celebrities doing stuff for charidee?

Knowing pikeys it was probably a distraction while the rest of the clan stole thousands of pounds of goods from the back of the store.
