A mother has hit out at an airline she claims ‘name-shamed’ her for calling her young daughter Abcde. Traci Redford says a Southwest Airlines gate agent at John Wayne International Airport in Orange County, Florida guffawed on reading five year-old Abcde’s boarding pass earlier this month. Redford, whose daughter’s name is pronounced ‘Ab-city’, told KABC: ‘The gate agent started laughing, pointing at me and my daughter, talking to other employees.

You called your daughter ABCDE but reckon it is pronounced Ab-city? Might just as well have called her C.UNT and reckoned it was pronounced See-unt.

Penned by "Guys and Dolls" writer Frank Loesser in 1944, the Christmas song is perceived by some as unworthy for the most wonderful time of the year -- particularly in the age of #MeToo.
"People might say, 'Oh, enough with that #MeToo,' but if you really put that aside and read the lyrics, it's not something that I would want my daughter to be in that kind of a situation," midday host Desiray told CNN affiliate WJW-TV.

Sainsbury’s ‘plug boy’ Christmas advert ‘encourages children to play with sockets’

People have reacted furiously to news that the Sainsbury’s Christmas advert’s ‘plug boy’ received a number of health and safety complaints. The little boy, dressed as a plug, who launches himself perfectly into a giant socket to light up a Christmas tree has won the hearts of many across the UK in the battle for best festive ad. But the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) revealed it has received 35 complaints over fears children will copy the advert and be encouraged to start ‘playing with plug sockets’.

The heartwarming Sainsbury’s advert, titled The Big Night, sees eight-year-old Tia Isaac perform a festive take on the New Radical’s You Get What You Give.

But plug boy – 10-year-old schoolboy Harrison Wilmot dressed as a giant electric plug – has been hailed by many as the stand-out star.
