Yes I have one of these. I'm there now.
Last hunt season a few of us had a bit of a dabble when it came to looking for winners in gut busting races. Usually the conditions had to as close to heavy as possible, and the course and trip demanding. Most of the time we can't have all three, but occasionally a chance can be found in there somewhere.

Not knowing my arse from my elbow when it comes to racing in the greater UK, I've had to rely on rat cunning when it comes to my selections for the Leagues comp, I did that yesterday. Using the grind "technique," I manage to find Secret Desert, an 11-1 shot which paid 15-1 on the giddy goat. So I've tried my hand again, and invite anyone else to try their luck. Carlisle has to be the venue today. Heavy track, gut busting course.

13:00 Rupert Bear. 2-1.
13:30 Big Occasion. 13-2. EW.
14:40 Rival D'estraval. 6-4.
15:10 Harouet. 14-1. EW.

Morning Cyc.
1.00 Ritsi 8/1
1.30 See What Happens 3/1
2.40 Mr Moonshine 4/1
3.10 Victory Gunner 25/1. This ol boy is 14 years young and has been plying his trade since 2002. He's prevailed in a few gut busting slogs over the years. Most recent form doesn't inspire with the dreaded 'P' prominent. However although he's thrown in the towel on 4 occasions in his last 9 runs, he's also been in the winners enclosure 4 times too. I'm hoping he's got one last going day in him and the claiming jockey booking is definitely a positive.
