So - and this is if rumors are to be believed - we've had a punt on Mbuemo, Delap and Huijsen. Our favored targets are Trafford (who we bid for last year), Guehi (who we bid for last year), Elanga (who we bid for last year) and possibly Zabarnyi (wanted by PSG).

It's like Chaos says, our "scouting" is as if a child watched some YouTube videos or played FC25. I read somewhere we're "furious" about Saudi tax. Yet we're shopping exclusively in the Premier League! Again, I understand it's early June and there's ages and - as if often the case - I could be eating my hat, words and my own bullshit in two months time but our recent track record is.....left wanting.

For me it's about the scouts and Andy Howe, can't we ask exactly what the **** he does for a living?!

Well we could say that our track record of signing good players until 18 months ago worked.

But recently and until a good player is signed for not extortionate amounts we can say our scouting has been abysmal. That’s just a fact. And until we get a bargain in the future we can continue to say that.

If we sign Elanga for £50m that’s proof that our scouting network is failing.

We signed Barnes for £40m. That’s hardly a bargain.

No. It's been lazy. All linked players for the first team are players that we all know about.

We are only a few days in to the transfer window so we can't be expecting much. EH said we needed to move fast suggesting at that time things weren't moving at all. Maybe they are behind the scenes. Let's just hope with JR on the transfer team now that all deals don't need to go through many layers of SA to get a yes
