It's unbelievable isn't it... Yet people say he's not been backed... Like burning hundreds of millions
He's also found nothing... It's high prices for mid players in the main. Youth is ignored even when provided. He needs to bring in some creative match winners.
This is for you @Roland Deschain According to the German Sky Sports: Openda is available for £35m Fume away
Another day and more whining already. The same culprits who were claiming that this transfer window was a disaster just a few short weeks ago are the ones now going OTT about the season’s prospects. The same culprits who were whining early last season about our prospects for last season are the ones going OTT about this season’s prospects. The same culprits who repeat 3 or 4 times each page their negativity as if everyone else can’t understand their view point unless it is said 10 to 15 times a day every day. Cue more whining.
Newcastle should buy him, but they'll **** about buying Wissa. I'm baffled as much as Roland regarding some very obvious issues at this point in all areas of the pitch. Newcastle are actually bulldozing it with a 200 million spend, but are we better?
Wissa has this morning released a statement, pretty much begging Brentford to let him leave for a reasonable fee.
I think it would be a very big help for Woltemade. Bringing in a proven PL goalscorer to take some of the pressure off of him and allow him the time to adapt/play without having to shoulder all of the burden. Much as having Wilson did for Isak.
I wonder at what point Isak will actually realise Liverpool aren't coming to save him and that he'll still be a Newcastle player.
I don't disagree, but we're still no better an 11. We've lost isak, Elanga looks exactly like the player man United sold for 16 million and we don't know what Thiaw is like yet. All summer we heard Howe banging on about players having to be better than what we already had, but after a 200 million spend I'm not seeing any improvement anywhere on the pitch. I appreciate he hasn't started Thiaw yet, but we're always going to have one or two out. Seriously where has the money gone this summer? It's the same side without Isak and Elanga thrown in it.
I think they will mate . Newcastle have spent 200 million. This leads me to another question for you guys. If Newcastle have spent such a huge amount and things don't improve dramatically over the next season, will we be in big trouble psr wise?
Why waste the energy getting upset that a new signing isn't good enough three games into the season? That seems more than a little foolish, based upon countless examples of players taking time to get up to speed, adapt to new systems and pressures.
Elanga isn't the crux of the post you're replying to, but merely part of it. He's looked poor and that's the bottom line...Maximin looked a better player imo... Sure he could come good, but I need to see it first. I'm asking where the money has gone because it's not in the pitch and we've not seen an improvement yet. Whether we might see improvement is hypothetical.
Ive been known for a pessimistic post or two (hundred) but we have strengthened the squad and once we get a striker (not Osula) on the pitch with two wingers (Gordon and Elanga) and Hall and Livermento back as full backs we are going to be so good. We just need a number 9 and a creative midfielder and it's a 10 out 10 window in terms of outcome not process. We have raised the floor but not the ceiling and that's fine with me as my main complaint last year was there is nothing on the bench. It'll come good once the noise on the transfer window subsides.
As things stand, including the money for Longstaff, Kelly, I think we might be just about OK with what the journos were reporting before the window as our max budget. I don't think we 'need' to sell Isak for PSR purposes, but it would be a gamechanger in terms of spending scope if we did sell him.
