Didn’t mean we did, just there are other clubs who could’ve met the clause (like we did with Olise) who didn’t bother. Decent player, doesn’t remotely fit into a 343.
Think he fits in perfectly. 1 of the 2 10s behind striker who can drift wide. Fits them far better than Mbuemo who is a winger potentially joining a team that doesn’t play wingers.
This is the fall out I bet because Mitchell wouldn't see this as fit for purpose. It's not that the players aren't, but it's a bit lazy and expensive in his eyes I bet. Taking that to one side it'll be two great signings if they can get them over the line, but I suspect they'll be too expensive.. Guehi in particular.
When we lose out on both, it's what we do next. Last Summer we had no plan b with the rumors that Howe had been 'offered' someone (Todibo on loan, I think) but he flatly refused. We cannot afford another Summer of no first team strengthening. The 'keeper situation is a joke.
Those two players would make our 1st 11 very very strong looking, so fingers crossed. It's also encouraging to read they want a GK, striker and a midfielder too, so perhaps they'll bring in some finds. I think signing other clubs finds is great in a way, but comes across a bit lazy and expensive, which bites eventually just like the last time. A mix of safe purchases and finds is ideal this summer.
Howe - “we need to move fast”. History - “not our style mate”. Other clubs - “announce Cunha/Zubimendi/Wirtz/Delap/Huijsen etc before window even opens”. if anyone’s interested, Howe is actually on holiday this week, mate of mine bumped into him.
Almost as if we could really, really use a someone in charge of transfers for the pivotal summer ahead….
They'll sh#t down Mitchells neck and then when we get in PSR trouble again in 18 months time they'll say Howes not getting backed.
A Liverpool fan tells you that Elliot isn't up to the physical demands of Slots system and doesn't want to be a back-up player and your take away from that is that he fits our profile? Our entire game is intensity and physical demands and whilst I agree we could do with another midfielder it's going to have to be someone who's either exceptional or happy to take a back-up role to the three we have (probably the strongest part of our team). I don't mind if we blow a ton of our budget on a RW and CB who are quality, they're our glaring issues. After that a back-up striker, GK, CM and another CB would be great but unrealistic.
I see the Amnesty Mackems are applying double standards because they are being linked with Jawdan Hendahsan. The champion of gay rights who sold out to take the Saudi buck knowing their views on those rights. Thick as ****.
I swear we're linked with players Newcastle aren't after, so they can then report Newcastle failed stories.
