Nice work.. Lose a player for nowt and replace him with a younger one who's now a better player for nowt.
I have nothing against the move. It’s a free transfer and it means we can spend elsewhere. We only need him for cover anyways and he’s a different option. If he stays fit which I think he can he will score goals. Cant decide whether others dong want him because he’s not a foreign name.
Lewin is actually a decent player and in a better side he'll do well just like some of the players we all thought were **** before the takeover. It simply helps getting some service and not being surrounded by crap players. It's not like he'd be first choice, so it's not going to be easy finding a better player who'll potentially accept that and get them for nowt. He's got some attributes non of our strikers have and that's another club in the bag in certain games and situations when needed.
Not quite true mate. If you take a deeper dive into his stats he got plenty of shots he just couldn't hit a barn let alone a barn door. Now that may have come from the pressure of the situation, but what's the difference, He'd be under just as much if not more pressure here. I get what your saying about being a target man and holding the ball up etc, but that would require him playing back to goal and laying balls off for Joelinton to run onto and we all know what happens when he gets inside the box I'd personally prefer a Pedro type player that could sit behind the striker (Advanced playmaker) or play as the main striker.
For us? Can't see those happening. Watkins will be seriously big money. And Brentford will ask for loads for Wissa as well. And neither will want to be 2nd choice behind Isak.
Wissa less than 12 months on contract Tons of playing time with 8 CL games, any PL midweek games plus FA Cup and League Cup
Shots doesn't necessarily mean good chances or sustained attacks on the opposition goal mind. Everton have been **** since the Italian wiped his arse with them.. That was funny though so cheers Carlo. I'm not saying he's going to turn into inzaghi, but he'll definitely do well here and when we are seeing games out he's a good option. I'm pretty sure you'll still get the pedro type player too mate, which is why I'm happy with Lewin simply as Wilsons replacement (if it even happens)
Would be some statement if we got either of those as our back up striker. But can we please also get a CB.
Downie now saying Striker is next priority position before CB and midfielder which will be needed once Longstaff leaves. Hope reckon Trafford will come to a head this week but clubs are about £8m apart.
I get that mate, just reading into some of his stats a bit deeper and the stats that use shots to goals ratio are based on shots which should be on target and making the keeper work. I get they don't say the pace they came in at or the work required to get said shot off though or if indeed he was wearing football boots or thigh high boots at the time Furthermore loads of journalists now saying we haven't actually spoken to him. They say Howe admires his talent and they wouldn't necessarily rule the move out but it's not on the cards at present.
Agreed, These are his numbers for last season: He is in the bottom 1% for goal's per shot on target across the entire league. If you compare it to a bigger pool of players across the big 5 leagues (Ger, Fra, Spa, Ita, Eng) then he is still in the bottom 3%, it's just pitiful and a waste of a squad number
Likely on big big wages too with him being a free. I'm actually surprised Leeds/Sunderland etc not taking a gamble on him.
Difference is Joelinton could stay fit and only looked like he was wearing high heels when in the box
Ekitike would be ideal as an alternative to Pedro. Ekitike and Lewin would set me up for the next 5 years
