I agree with @Magdad at the same time as I think the club/Eales are at fault. I’ve dealt with the Middle East before in business as I’m sure many of you have and they’re horrendously slow. Between not working Fridays (they don’t really work Sundays either, in spite of their claims), multiple religious holidays, and the “inshallah” nature of most things it’s painful. However this should have been addressed by now. Harking back to how deals were being done in 21/22 vs the snails pace and ludicrous selecting of targets today must surely have alarm bells ringing somewhere.
Some Italian has sparked rumours of Isak wanting to leave. Tiresome, but a question for the board - if selling Isak meant we could then replace with, say, Simons, Sesko and Elanga, would you do it?
I personally would. Because that would assume we still have another £150m to spend on a RCB, GK and squad improvements
Selling one of our best players when you can't even persuade a Brighton or Brentford player to come here would be foolish imo.
I see the completely unfair market value test applies to the sale of the women's teams, so because our lot are lower devision we'd get about 50 pence. There's an explanation for why the club aren't doing it.
What I don't get is that the cost of running the women's team doesn't count against the club in terms of outgoings on finanical regs, yet... "selling" the women's team (even to your own parent company) does count as positive revenue. So... build a brand new £1bn stadium "for the lasses". Sell.it as an asset, to a parent company and then let the men "hire" it for free. Srill the same cost of building the stadium anyway, but also give ourselves £1bn revenue in the process.
It's all a load of horseshit and guess who can make the most? All the big 6 by hundreds of millions over the others.. It's an escape route for them. Chelsea 200 million villa 50 and so on and so on.
Made no signings mate. Despite him saying we should do early deals. We have pissed about lowballing teams.
We are supposed to be a top six even top four side. We operate like amateurs and appear to be unable to close down deals these days. We have made a mess of the Mitchell saga. The Eales situation is a mess and don’t get me started on the chap who ****ed off to Manu. We don’t currently appear to have a plan. No comms from the club in months (apart from Howe saying let’s get business done early) and we have sighed no one. But hey it’s 1 July tomorrow and we might sigh 3 top class players.
