The only reason that Villa is not already in the relegation zone is because the teams below them are just as ****e. Well done for beating them, though, that was a massive achievement for your lot. "St Totteringham's Day" is looking a very dim prospect, this season, eh. Despite your bravado, you Gooners must be bricking it, especially with Kane and Eriksen hitting form at exactly the point in the season when Arsenal traditionally start to bottle it.
I think we all know who's bricking it here. So many potential comments to come back and haunt you in this paragraph HIAG.
The purpose of this thread is for you to make a Tit out of yourself. (Deliberately as you admit) And for me to take the piss out of you. I'm surprised that you've still not cottoned on to that yet.
Actually since 1961 (when Spurs did) how many times have Spurs ended the season above us ? can someone please let me know how many times in the last 52 years have we been superior to Spurs. update found this website that helps answer the above http://www.2atoms.com/time-since-spurs-finished-above-arsenal.htm
The 60's were a pretty barren spell for Arsenal, but since our first double in 1971 Arsenal have finished above Spurs 43 times to the Spuds pitiful 8. They haven't finished above us since 94/95 and that was only because Arsenal had a mare. Even then the spuds could only manage 7th place. If we finish above them again this season it with be the 20th consecutive season of total dominance. Even if they did scrape past us this season, they would have to repeat that another 18 times in a row, win another two doubles, 12 league titles, 4 FA cups and compete in consecutive champions league seasons to even begin to talk about a North London Power shift. I think it's safe to say that the North London power shift is just another deluded figment of their imaginations
Maybe this is what spud fans mean by a power shift, If the spuds ever get to 9 they will have the boxed dvd telling them as much.
Only the deranged and deluded even mention a power shift and given the record of Arsenal's dominance in every competition over the decades, ultimately you have to pity the desperate fools that cling on to the fantasy. Maybe in a parallel dimension Spurs are the bigger and better club, but in this one Arsenal are the Daddies by a long long distance
I can see that you've invested a lot of thinking into this subject, PESKIE. Of course, the disparity in relative success between our two clubs is there for all to see, but we have to take one step at a time. I think we have more chance of winning the CL than you do. The one and only time we were in it we went far further than your sorry lot have done in all the times you've disgraced that contest. You're only there to make up the numbers - the big European clubs don't take you seriously. Many of us have always said that a CL place is wasted on Arsenal. And, of course, few will ever forget that humiliation that Arsenal suffered at the hands or Barca, a few seasons back, when Bendtner tripped over his own bootlaces attempting (what would have been) your only shot on target in the entire game. I still feel soiled after that experience.
basically they are ****ing miles behind us in terms of performance, as well as trophies, so where is the Power Shift they talk of ? not much of a revival is it.
To be fair, 1977/78 there was no St Totteringham's day and the day where they could no longer overtake us didn't come. This was only due to the fact that they had been relegated to the old Division 2 the previous season So I guess you would have to call that a St Totteringham's season, rather than a day.
epic fail 1 - you have to be in it to win it, you have only been in it once for ****s sake. epic fail 2 - we made the final in 2006 which is further than you managed you truly are a bellend
