I think you'll find that was another of his wind-ups. He knows as well as I do that Spurs never do anything the easy way. We should have put them away in the first half, but predictably, we didn't. We dominated most of the game and then nearly threw it way. Typical Spurs, I'm afraid.

I'd call it making a fool of yourself rather than a wind up. A wind up is when you rib the oppo, not make yourself look stupid. Anyway, it was a typical Spurs performance, good in patches, brilliant from Erikson and yet your soft underbelly was almost exposed again. But for a heavy touch at the end and a shot that two yards lower would have beaten vorm, you would have been coming home from Sheffield with your tail between your legs. Should be an interesting final (as interesting as the league cup can be anyway) I think the Chavs will want revenge for that league defeat and even though it's a minor trophy, Maureen will want to win it.
I don't think its a minor trophy to us, or to Mourinho. He'll put his best side out and go all out to win it. It's always a minor trophy to those not in the final. As I said, we had numerous opportunities to bury them, and failed to do so - again! It should have been all over at half time.
I suppose for a club like Spurs, the league cup is a big deal. But you're right that Mourinho will want to win it, it's in the nature of football managers to want to win every competition they are in. I think you're very fortunate to be in the final, like you say you should have been out of sight by HT, but Sheff Utd could quite easily have won that game at the end.
