Both. A decent gas one with the lava bricks for weekdays and proper fire at the weekend. I also have a pizza oven, which can also, if insulated well enough, be used as a slow cooker.
I struggle to post pics, always says the file size is too big, however I bought it from here; https://www.thestonebakeovencompany.co.uk/ I've got the primo 60. I haven't fully built it in yet, so it's not insulated. That's this years summer project. Edit, they now do the kits to build it in, which they didn't do when I bought mine and I'm sure they also did a primo 90 (bigger diameter) which I didn't see on the website?
I made mine with bricks, clay & straw and an aluminium tube. Also made a cool cold smoke box out of cardboard.
I'm a bit impulsive when I want something, so didn't spend too long looking around. I never told my wife what it actually cost. I think I said they were about £400 when I decided I wanted one and she gave me grief then, telling me it would be a "5 minute wonder". She has come round a bit now, especially when we have a BBQ and my mates kids come round and make pizza's
The pizza oven can be a pain to light, so invested in one of these. Never used it on the BBQ, but I guess it could be used. https://www.looftlighter.com/en/home/
Love a good bbq. In the summer I do a bit of fishing for mackerel and then make a fire on the beach. Place a few charcoals in the top, let it burn down and then use one of those fish griddle things with a few mackerel in it. Best food ever hands down
Fish Apart from Cod fish pie etc , I generally struggle to eat fish , esp if I have seen it with it's head on .
I was sceptical myself but it works brilliantly. Before I used that method I would be cutting them and checking them or overcooking, now they are perfect every time.
