I thought we played extremely well and to a plan which worked.
The closing down of the Barca midfield was great and when Origi came on we had a real threat. Good at the back too with Lovran looking the part today. He was outstanding. You can't shut down a team as good as Barca for 90 minutes but we contained both Messi and Louis well, A few blocks were required but overall it was a good 8/10.

Lovern did well yes, put in a shift but then they were not fit so I felt he had to do a lot as the midfield screen wasn't all it could be.

    Klavan did well beside him.

If lovern is injured then we are looking at matip and klavan together v arsenal... I hope

But...we are still very vulnerable to the diagonal...it wasn't in Barcas make up to keep doing it....their weakness ...

Really happy with our performance we looke sharp from the KO had a dodgy spell in 1st half but held out albeit riding our luck at times. The defence did pretty well. Second half we just tore into them and really impressed with not just the press to win the ball back but immediately looking to hit the man with space in front of him to run into.
Mane added an extra oomph to the attack and linked well with the other midfield / forwards.
only downsides were the injuries and Coutinho more interested in cutting inside and wildly shooting wide/over yet again than progressing the move

Good game today chaps, some very bright spots for you........
Mane looks a real threat and linked well with Clyne, Lallana and Firmino (at times)
Clyne, solid at the back and good going forward
Lallana, carried on from last season with his pressing game and also looked to be developing an end product
Wijnaldum, will be a good addition to you, held the mid reasonably well and also got forward at times
Milner, looked decent in an unusual position and still threatened going forward.
Ragnar, very calm and wont be letting too much past him this season
    Lovren, solid performance
Origi , very threatening when he came on
Stewart, looked to be learning the Klopp way and wasn't out of place in the team.

The rest of the players were about what you would expect but good signs in general.

More or less the real thing at different times during the match except for Neymar, it's only their first week of preseason though and it showed in their passing and control.

I thought 4-0 seemed ****ing flattering tbh

But I'm presuming we're gonna get easily beat by Arsenal next Sunday, zero expectations for this season

Apart from one long pass into space which Clyne chased after and got to he did nothing worth a mention. He falls under the "what you would expect" category <ok>

Leicester are done though aren't they, let's be honest, they've had their moment and will be mid-table at best this season, for reals

Klopp refused to talk to a reporter from the Sun for a) obvious reasons and b) apparently they will be releasing the Clyne sex tape.

I thought Mane was a real outlet and provides us with real pace and direct running. Defenders were scared.

Also thought Lallana was much better from a deeper position and Henderson was far better suited in a midfield 3.

The attack looks really fluid - still have the same concerns over the midfield and defence but I think we could be in for a similar season as to 13/14 where our attack runs riot.
