To be fair, his best form came as the false 9 and he scored a fair few goals whenever he played.

 

He will do a job, but I think we are limited with him up top. I prefer his creativity behind a striker.
Still think I best striker by far is Origi.

 

What a coincidence that's what happened to Sturridge

 

still think Studge is clearly our best striker but Origi possibly offers more for the team - and may even be fit enough to play

Clyne making some really good runs but has to do better with his final ball.

 

some of the passing from midfield (some of which has been by defenders) has been excellent though the crossing is up to our normal standards. Barca might not have started but some of that is because of how well we are pressing.

must stop posting as while typing that we made more mistakes than in the prev 20 mins and should be 1-1

 

Lallana has been very good so far - lets see if he can do it for 90 for once

Watching on phone so only halt time comments...midfield looked great...especially in first twenty..really dominated that area.

If, as Jimmy said Clyne could cross..Barca would have been in trouble as he was skinning down that right side.

Tbf we look fitter than Barca...think they've only played 3 games so far.

Milner until injured looked decent at LB but both our FB's getting caught with balls out wide and over them.

Migs...good few saves but as usual looks hesitant...

Coutinho doesn't look as remotely fit as the rest of the team...

pretty decent effort there. good bit of early intensity that barca were not ready for.

The can wijnaldum partnership has been interesting. its ok going forward but at times theres zero and i mean zero screen for the CBs.

Overall Mane is playing well, clyne.... pity he wasted his two great efforts to overlap with crosses that were terrible. Decent intensity, some passes i felt were down blind alleys at times when gaping spaces existed but otherwise pretty ok.

Hopefully it shows we are ready for a league game.

 

mingolet there when lovern dived in brilliantly to deny suarez.. he really didn't want to dive on the ball there.. its only a friendly but you have to get in there.
