This is all about how one mathematically writes an equation/formula. I have written it in Excel i.e. where one has to "nest" the various elements of the formula and the answer is 30.
So its a trick question i.e. one with lots of possible "interpretations" for the non mathematician

Because you put brackets it then becomes BODMAS brackets over divide multiply add and subtract. **** I didn't google that one
