Someone said (may have been Steven Fry) that you only have to spend some time with a roomful of Americans to realise how similar we are to Australians.
Oh dear. Oh dearie, dearie me. Dearie dearington. Just went to do some work on our email server and found nine months of emails that didn't get to us, all asking for service in response to one of our leaflet campaigns this spring and summer. That's lots of people hacked off with us and a bundle of lost cash. Entirely my error. Whoops. There goes my hopes for a quiet weekend. At least it means losing to Villa wouldn't be the worst news of the weekend... Vin
Oh Vin that's a nightmare. Not wishing to teach granny how to suck eggs, but contact them all with a big apology. They may now have found an alternative service to yours, however contacting them to apologise for the error goes a long way to putting you in a good light to be ready to step in if current service provider lets them down. *make sure egg is cooked before sucking *
Blimey, don't get these on the Isle of Wight. http://www.theguardian.com/world/pi...australian-man-a-fright-then-a-photo-op#img-1
Already done. I'm quite moved - I've had a bundle of emails already thanking me for getting back to them. All sympathetic to our problem and many of them have said they haven't sorted anything out and would still like us to do the work. Aren't people kind and generally wonderful? (Take note, Godders) Vin
Final episode (this series) of The Detectorists last night, but pleased to see a Christmas Special is planned. I love the characters...good comedies always have detailed secondary characters...weak ones rely solely on the main lead. I don't know anyone (outside of this forum) who is watching it.
Yep, I do. A couple of Rambler friends watch it and love it too. I've recommended it to a few very old friends of mine, and when I've asked them how they've found it they've said they haven't got round to watching it yet. That's code for they aren't going to get around to it, which is a shame because I know they'd love it. It's probably the best situation comedy on TV at present. The final episode of the series wasn't one of the strongest, in my opinion, but it was still good, and nice that Mackenzie Crook wasn't afraid to write some happy endings. Sometimes positive things do happen for ordinary people.
Nearly there....all my cards and letters written and stamped, all presents bought and half of them wrapped. Will finish tomorrow and that's it for another year. How d'ya feel now, suckers.
There's a Christmas episode of The Detectorists this year - 23rd December. I'm downloading both series as I type...
Mustn't be too smug about being ready for Xmas...my son usually turns up on Xmas Eve with a sack of odd shaped presents for his GF and asks if I have any paper, labels and sellotape....then I end up wrapping all evening. Perhaps I should just say no I haven't and let him suffer.
Chuffed as I don't send cards or give gifts and today I bought a small box of quality street and there you are job done. I shall email everyone a few days before Christmas to tell them I am thinking of them. I refuse to be drawn into a Christmas Spendfest.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-35006404 It appears that one of the women involved in the shootings in California had pledged allegiance to IS on Facebook prior to the attacks.
I am a bit of a Sado when it comes to being early for Xmas I set myself a final target of the 30th nov to be bought, wrapped and labelled up and cards wrote..... This year I was done by the 27th.
Been up in that there London today doing a live session for Daytrotter with Fable. Drove past the Emirates on our 3 and a half hour journey up. Five hours to get back. I really, really, really don't miss living in London!
