Saints academy! Or Pompey - but if he's only young, you might not want to risk him playing first team football week in/week out.

Wow, tough. My experience is that the part you're doing now is the hardest part, and it gets easier from then on in. You'll pay your deposit (hopefully never have to raise another deposit if you can keep that one - though unscrupulous landlords do their best to strip you of that, or did in my day); you'll hopefully meet a few flatmates, who are then good contacts for the future, in terms of moving into other accommodation for cheaper. A friend of mine was facing doing it for the first time in his life a few years ago, and he has since become the only ever-present in the flat, and the landlord lets him now vet the new tenants, so he can get his work colleagues in, or friends, or just people who respond to the advertisements who he thinks will get on with best. So once you get used to the experience, it will get easier. Good luck!

Like property hunting...it's selling that's stressful. Mind you, my last two properties were old cottages with issues...the modern one I am in now would sell in days...but I will be in my box and not care.:)

You need t get yourself on the Council House list. If its anything like Brighton you'll be on the list foe years before you get anything, worth it in the ens though.

Was on it for 6 years just to get a studio flat, then when son was born moved into a 2 bedroom, now single again so right back at the bottom (Even though the flat was originally mine and not hers) <doh> Not even sure if it's worth going back on list.

Yep, do it. Make it an early priority to get it out of the way. Doesn't harm you at all.

BTW, just read through the thread. Sorry to hear about your circumstances. Is it irreconcilable.?

I'm going to see someone later anyway to see what my options are (after some viewings). I've been told it would be better to go on there while I'm still technically 'homeless'. That way I'll start with some points. Otherwise it's start on 0. Then 1 a month until I have another to get somewhere (around 140ish). If it's a 10yr+ wait, then i'm not sure what the point is, espescially if they suspend it once I'm 'adequately housed.'

EDIT: Just seen your edit haha, cheers for kind words TSS. And no, unfortunately I don't think it is. We're on decent terms though which is the most important thing for my boy <ok>

Years ago I was reading a Dickens story and he referred to a character going to his Long Home. I didn't get the reference immediately
OK. Well, best wishes for the future.

I don't want to be too pushy with him. I just thought there might be an under 7s league or something but I'm struggling to find anything. He's nearly 6 but he's small - like his pa!

You could try Southbrook FC, based at the sports centre at the top of Hill Lane. Onionman Jr plays there and his team in in Tyro league one. Professional setup with good coaches.

If you hover over "teams" you'll see everything from 6 to adult is represented.
