She's made way more accomplished stuff since then. Try it. An example, Langue d'Amour, from the album Mr Heartbreak:

Was very pleased to read that a judge has overturned a gagging order on a woman who has had to give up her baby to the father and his partner. Have nothing to say about the case as I know few facts, but I have been very concerned for some time about these gagging orders in family courts. Don't identify the child by all means, but everyone has the right to free speech (within certain restrictions). Justice must not only be done, it must be seen to be done.

Ah that's awful. They are getting very good with treating childhood leukaemia these days though. Best wishes to her and the family.

Thanks LTL . Yes survival rate is high and they can do amazing things , she is young and a sister in law who is a district nurse says that is a big advantage . I was not sure if I should post on here or not , but I am better talking even on the internet , it's a sort of release if that makes sense ?

That's very sad news Jasper, but as you say, youth and hope are powerful medicine, and amazing advances have been made in recent years. I hope all your family can rally round her and her parents. Chin up.

I love "First Aid Kit" - introduced to them by my daughter who said "I think you'll like this" - and she was right. They're really good - just got their latest album which is just as good, possibly a tad more "polished" ...........

Ahem - and Roxette, who, imo, are very talented and not as "poppy" as people make them out to be ...........

Sooooo ............ if you appreciate (or appreciated) lyrics more than music, who do you think was/were really good lyrically in recent (post 50s) music? I am also very much a "lyric man" - though I do tend to dwell very much in the past, so I'm interested who others think are/were good lyricists.

I'm so sorry, that's really awful. I wish her and your family all the best

Quite chilled, probably a good song to listen to while drunk. Reminds me of a cross between of Monsters and Men and Sleep by the Dandy Warhols

Or this song by the Go! Team, which is quite stripped-back but has some nice lyrics

Hi Jasper, sad news. I know a very happy and healthy 13 year old girl who had Leukaemia at the same age. Stay positive, your niece could be going the same way. Truly hope she does.
