Oh my goodness. He's captured XH558 brilliantly. It's difficult to resolve that such a thing of beauty is designed to go to war.

That's really odd. Can't even blame the likely subject of Sean Connery for that one, as he was born in Edinburgh. During that recent chat about running over potholes, mine had occurred in Glasgow and I wound down the window asking where the nearest open garage was. The replies I got back were indecipherable, but I did get the distinct impression that the locals were trying either to help me or threatening to kill me. In the end I stopped in Dumbarton, inspected the damage, headed for Loch Lomond and, like I mentioned before, a can of baked beans solved the problem. And some sausages and eggs.

The Highland accent is beautiful. Plus, I can understand what they're saying, which definitely helps. :)

It's a deep accent. I've never heard a sqeaky Glasweigan, maybe that's why its considered sexy.

The Americans are weird. Glaswegian accent sexy <laugh>. If we're talking Scottish, as TSS said, it's got to be the Highland accent.

I'm a sucker for a trashy Essex accent, Geordie & Cockney are right up there too. I'm yet to encounter a more unpleasant noise than the Bristolian accent, horrible stuff.

Geordie is a super accent, not struck on Birmingham. Welsh is okay in a woman, but too lilting for a man....mind you it varies across the country.

Hate the Brummie accent, always sound miserable as sin. Then again I probably would be miserable if I had to live in Birmingham. Always liked the Welsh accent on Women, just does something for me I can't even explain <laugh>

Yes, the picture is still there. Fascinating tale - but I did think the same as you - "Save the Whale"! :emoticon-0105-wink:

Probably did the kindest thing though....attempting to re-float whales is seldom successful and probably very stressful.

Going back to the blues nights.. Tomorrow Friday 16th at the Horse and Jockey .. The Pete Harris Blues Band who are talented, besides Pete being a Season Ticket Holder. They feature the local and very talented female blues singer Geradene Hume.. If you have not seen her its worth the trip.

My Saints fanatic friend who now lives in Germany has just sent me an excited text to let me know that the club five minutes down the road from him, VFB Lübeck, had a magnificent striker on their books up until 1996 when he was snapped up by Southampton.

    Good old Ali Dia.

Apparently played two games for them!

I would have thought you could find it on Youtube. I've got the file on a HDD somewhere. It is memorable, mainly for MLT's appearance though. :)

The Scouse accent has gone right down in my estimation in the last couple of years.

Here's the video - it's definitely up there with Oscar Gobern's kung-fu kick as my favourite tackle of all time.
