This is getting scary .......... Putin sabre rattling and if (as is pretty likely) the US get a right wing president to replace Obama, we could be heading for a showdown ........ :emoticon-0107-sweat

He's just playing games around the UN conference to try and strengthen any negotiating position. Always does this kind of thing.

Not sure how many of us you've met, but I know it includes me, Tom, Vin and LTL. From this, I can only assume you've met some really ugly cherries fans :)

I'm doing the same. I won't be using it, so someone might as well get something out of it. If I had a choice, I'd offer myself up for the research (genuine) where they leave bodies outside to see what happens for forensic science research. I just think it would be an apt end to my life to be left in a skip for a month to see what happens.

Pretty interesting what Putin is saying. Worth 7 minutes of your time - he's many things, and many unpleasant things, but stupid he is not...

It's certainly good to get an opinion from a different viewpoint. I was amazed how I agreed with the points he made, as well.

Mendacious twists of logic from a hard-line nationalist. I love how he paints himself as the victim of US aggression. This is the guy who annexed Crimea from the Ukraine and who has sent troops into the east of Ukraine. This is the guy sending aircraft to test British air defences. This is the guy who in every move shows that his history is as a cold-war hard man (never forget that he was head of the KGB - probably the most feared bunch of murderers in the world)

As for "we must support peaceful opposition in Syria" - the leading opposition politician in Russia was executed a few months ago, almost certainly on Putin's orders. So much for supporting opposition.

Don't be taken in by him. He may have an ability to sound reasonable but he is evil.

Don't know about knock-off. It IS based on our history (as anyone from Wessex should know). Sure it plays fast and loose with it, but that's entertainment. I am interested to see just how PC the Beeb can make 9th century England <laugh>.

He has clearly divvied up the former state owned businesses and given them to his mates (or the guys who are willing to pay him mega-bucks ....). Stand against him and you'll have "an accident". Jesus - he makes Don Corleone look like an amateur!

Ta for that call JWP. I saw it last night and independent of your call I put it under moderation. When I returned today it had been deleted. I don't know who the poster is, where he/she hails from, but one never seems to read anything but bile from him/her, so I think the best thing to do is delete anything the poster puts on the forum from now on. If you're wondering, I haven't put a name to the poster on purpose.

It's pretty obvious why it is getting made tho. Vikings is doing great ratings rise and so is Game of Thrones. Mix the two together and hope for the best? It's BBC America, so no nudity as Americans hate that....

Yes, I find that quite odd. They can swear and kill each other in the most imaginable ways, but show a piece of skin..? Dear oh dear, they're such prudes. :)
