I'm the fat one He's the one who puts things in your drink and by the sound of your name.. you drink them
I wouldn't have thought the fan for a moment thought "what a ****er, he could have bought me a Ferrari", I suspect he/she was delighted by the gesture. I don't see Lallana offering to pay for Saints fans to have their shirts changed to Twatbeard after all
I agree. I am not slating him for it. I am merely unimpressed. To me this is no gesture worth public applause because it is pointless and aimed at a child who has a lot when he could buy a shirt for a child who can't afford one at all. Or, he could do something with actual meaning with the money. Generosity is relative. Ten pounds given by your uncle is a nice gift. Ten pounds from your multimillionaire uncle, who gives everyone else speedboats, is an insult.
Anyone else see that Lallana has been on the Tele advertising Nivea face cream? Sorry if it has been mentioned before.......
Tbf, spacedsaint does have a point and in the greater scheme of things, this isn't a particularly amazing altruistic act. However, altruism should be celebrated in general. In this instance I think it's a case of it being a nice gesture, but nothing more and nothing hugely praiseworthy. To put it another way, would you have posted about it if the player in question wasn't an ex-Southampton player?
Been on for some days. They have had to photoshop him because he actually looks neat and tidy. What is the logic of advertising moisturiser using a bearded footballer.
No, but just in case you were unaware, this is a Saints fans forum, hence why the poster posted it. Nobody claimed he deserves a knighthood, they just posted a piece about a fairly recent ex-Saint
I wonder if people in the public eye are put off making minor, pleasant gestures because you basically can't win...
A friend recently inherited some money, so he gave both his kids a bit of money. They haven't spoken to him since because it wasn't enough.
