I remember making the mistake of going to watch Armageddon [you know, the one with Bruce Willis]. I came out of the cinema and my wife asked me why I was talking so loud. And I said, well you are too [loud enough for all the town to hear]. Why do people have to be so shouty..? Is it a male thing..? Was never a Mad Max fan myself. Couldn't see what people saw in them. We used to have a term of experience in my crowd. Someone would tell of their good/bad happening, and eventually someone would pipe up.. ah, but was is beyond the thunderdome..? The answer to which was, no, it wasn't as bad as that.
Actually in this it's the explosions and the music. The various actors don't really do an awful lot of talking.
Mind you, they had that in Armageddon too. The actors had to make themselves heard above the din. Good cat, Chilco.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...000-saiga-antelopes-died-in-just-a-few-weeks/ Strange event reported....mysterious death of saiga antelopes (no, I hadn't heard of them either). Only 250K left in the world and half have died in the last few weeks. Must have contracted a disease they have no resistance to...perhaps one that has jumped from another related species. Very sad.
A teenager has been charged with murdering a Saudi student and a vulnerable man in Colchester last year. The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on the Salary Brook Trail in the town at about 11am on Tuesday. Essex Police said he was initially held on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon but was subsequently arrested over the death of Saudi student Nahid Almanea and that of James Attfield, who was stabbed multiple times in a park in March 2014. Police warned the public at the time of the killings not to go out alone and to be vigilant. Mr Attfield, 33, who was a vulnerable man with brain damage, was found fatally wounded in the town's Castle Park, and died later in hospital. Ms Almanea, 31, was walking to lectures at the University of Essex, when she was killed on the Salary Brook Trail CCTV footage taken from a newsagent showed Ms Almanea's last movements as she headed towards the footpath. Officers said Ms Almanea would usually walk to the university with her brother, who she also lived with. But because he had earlier lectures that day she was walking alone. Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Worron, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: "We have received excellent backing throughout the investigations into both James and Nahid's deaths from the whole community in Colchester and I would like to thank them all again for their continued support. http://news.sky.com/story/1492621/teen-charged-with-murdering-two-in-colchester Ms Almanea was stabbed 16 times and Mr Attfield was stabbed 100 times. The teen if found guilty needs to never leave prison.
Nice day of sport today (hopefully )...Murray at moment on Sky (though not at his best), Test Match and then FA Cup.
Can anyone recommend a good quality USB powered fan ? Need one for work , but the old large fan is just to noisy / powerful ...... not fussed about flashy looks / displays etc , just want quality / quietness that will keep me cool in the summer !
Not sure I agree with your last bit . What if he is proven to be mentally unstable ? I agree he may be a danger to society , but he may need some form of help as well . Time will tell I suppose , but IMHO locking up and throwing away the key is not always the best solution .
I agree he may need some help, but keeping others safe is the first priority. Cannot give benefit of the doubt to anyone who would stab someone one hundred times.
Fran I'm not saying he should be set free , just not prison . As Beefy has pointed out though , some secure mental institutions are classed as Prisons , a point I had not thought of .
