If I remember rightly, the main ghost is a young girl that got thrown out of the top window back in the day. By all accounts is still a bit upset with that whole arrangement.
Was at the Hare and Hounds pub (Downend, Newport) on Friday. The ghost of Michael Morey is said to roam the downs with an axe...he was hanged near the pub for killing his young grandson. Lots of ghostly goings on round here.
You can't beat "real" history - someone has actually lived in that villa in the Roman era. My kids have never understood my interest for anything historical.(Many disagreements on days out) I suppose I'm a bit extreme- my degree was in Archaeology and Classics and I like to indulge it occasionally, never having used it directly for a career.
Only for the first 20 minutes. Then they were forced to play key players out of position because of Mike Brown's injury, but somehow they started playing better. Jonathan Joseph and Chris Robshaw were outstanding, but they will have to tighten up in defence against Ireland or it will be a massacre.
The most important thing is that we won. I enjoyed the game....how boring would a whitewash have been. Italy getting 3 tries gave them encouragement and gave us a game.
The more you know, the more you get out of life. Love recognising old words, knowing their origins and realising that there must have been a castle, burial ground or meeting place nearby. I understand that people who aren't bright may have no interest, but you meet people now who are far from stupid and yet know little. You never want to watch a quiz with me when someone says Nelson died at Waterloo!
