Don't say that, her parents live opposite. I have never had a non microwaved meal
out of that place. (But supposedly the roasts are good out of there)Try the barge a mile on towards melksham, a lovely pub resting on the canal side.

Don't like the Barge. Great location but because they just get a constant stream of customers, they don't need to try very hard and just get basic stuff wrong. My wife gets vouchers from work that we can use to get free stuff in Wadworth managed houses, the Barge being one of them so I've had 5 or 6 meals there in the last year and been disappointed by something each time.
I worked as a trainee manager under the landlord of the 3 Magpies in his previous pub many years ago - not a fan of the man you could say. Ive only had a Sunday Roast there so can't comment on the rest of their food...
To be honest, Devizes and surrounds are a bit of a desert as far as good eating places go but there are a few gems - usually a 10 mile drive for me to find a decent meal although a pub called the Royal Oak in my neighbouring village is pretty damn good so there are exceptions.

The Lock Inn and Canal Tavern in Bradford on Avon are both hard to beat.

Thats what I mean though....I'm bloody miles from Bradford on Avon, miles from Bath, miles from anywhere really so its always a half hour drive at least to go anywhere interesting. Good job I like my house really because its the only reason I stay where I am.

I think I've been to the lock inn for a beer. Not 100% sure, I'll pop in there in September if I haven't.

That last descent in the pouring rain looked terrifying, but no problem for Froome. Fantastic victory!

I know! He did take it pretty slowly, though, not surprisingly :) Don't think I'd like to drive down that descent in the rain!

After all the fuss last year with him pretty much being accused of being a drugs cheat, I'm so glad that it doesn't seem to have happened this year.

I was surprised Quintana wasn't more of a threat this year, but Froome was awesome. Good to see Adam Yates doing well, and Dan Martin and Gereint Thomas still strong at the end. Jens Voigt was saying the other night that Britain could have a stranglehold on the Tour for the next 10 years. Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration but it would have been unthinkable just 5 years ago, before Wiggo broke the British duck.

Makes no difference when you are dead though. :( In a way it is related, because you get copy cat shootings....happens a lot in America. People unhappy with life decide to take others with them...extremely rare here because weapons are less available to the general public...and those that are available tend to be capable of only one shot at a time.

Yes, when there was the beginnings of confusion over the motive for the killings it did strike me that the shootings maybe of the copycat variety. It's not a nice scenario to comprehend that shootings happen because previous shootings have happened. It's not an event one would like to get used to and accept in GB and Europe. My belief is that these instances of gun violence will eventually subside though because GB and Europe is fundamentally not a shooting to harm and kill society.

Might not be quite so simple.

This kid was apparently reading up on mass killings, and had prepared this attack in advance. With the same amount of effort, he could easily have built a bomb.
