He's a very, very, very clever man too though. Why not? As I say, at some level it evidentially makes an AWFUL lot more sense than a monotheistic God, which billions of people (for some reason) still believe in.
It is all too much like an LSD introspection where.... is the world actually in my head.......... and is anything I see real...... Am I real. ...... Is this all just an illusion and the only real thing is not a world............. it is my mind and that is all that exists........... not the sights I see or any smells or actions I do or see others doing.............. because none of it really exists............. it is created by my mind........... I, the one........
That's an old one. Douglas Adams thought of it. It's in the original Men in Black film, so a scriptwriter thought of it. I've even thought of it as an amusing thing. It's all just comfort thinking. There's nobody out there except other forms of life, some like us and some not like us. Some in very advanced stages of their particular evolution and some not so much. The only thing anyone can pretty much depend upon [if it comforts] is that we are not alone. In a practically infinite Universe [who knows for certain.?] it's pretty much a certainty. The flaw in Musk's theory is that he's thinking inside his World looking out. He's brave, I'll give him that. It's one thing for me to postulate, it's another for him to do so.
I have always looked at it like you are all simulations in my reality. I can choose to interact with you, or not. And by how I interact with you, I can provoke a response that impacts your reality. It could be something very minor like you simply reading and responding to my post. I might have less control/impact on some faraway person on a messageboard, or I might have a lot of impact on say, a pet or a child. Or a bug. I can kill a bug without much effort. And since I have my reality, I can only assume you have yours. And that we can only truly experience our own realities. Therefore, while you are a simulation in my reality, I am also a simulation in yours. That is true whether you are a cat, a bug, a sim, or whatever. Or if I'm just the Sim or a cat or a bug in some uberpowerful creature from afar. We are all simultaneously living in our own "base reality" while being simulations in someone else's "base reality."
Only read this if you have a strong stomach: France ‘Suppressed Reports of Gruesome Torture’ at Bataclan Massacre http://heatst.com/uk/exclusive-france-suppressed-news-of-gruesome-torture-at-bataclan-massacre/
Please excuse my ignorance on this subject but who is this military group and what is the reason behind their motives?
Their motives were to get rid of crazy Erogdan. But not enough joined them, so the whole thing is a mess and a bloodbath on both sides. Erodgan has been purging the army top ranks for a while now to put his own people in charge. The Turkish army actually has the right to do a coup. If they believe the ruler is in the wrong or a threat to freedom of the people. Erodgan is becoming a dictator with the changes he is bringing in. But he has too much support from the public and miltary atm. Shame as the guy is ISIS loving scum.
Erdogan supporters have beheaded a soldier. The coup soldiers that have surrendered are getting set upon by the public. Some very very nasty pics and vids about so be careful on social media.
