Bloody hell Lff, sorry to hear that. Whatever happened about the break-in at your place, was it mentioned? Hope things to take an upturn and remain 'up' for a while!

That was just the start of my woes. Each time something happens we say that it can't get any worse and yet it does<wah>.

I have to say though that I read a recent report about a couple not much older than us who were burgled but also beaten up and had boiling water poured over them, so all in all I don't really care about losing a few possessions given what could have happened.

Anyway, we found both cars. My son's has been returned (apparently it was used in a couple of 'jobs'), ours has been written off so I'm currently having a prolonged debate with the insurance company about its value. My idea of 'market value' is how much I would need to spend to buy a car with a similar spec, age, mileage etc. It obviously doesn't mean the same to the Insurers. I sometimes wonder who the real crooks are!

But isn't that the great thing about footie, a Saints win and you can forget everything else for a few days. Thank goodness we have such a great run-in.

Was only looking at that the other week. The poor guy was so caught on the spot, yet he tried his best to cover their error. He only came to be interviewed for a job - which he didn't get.

He talks a lot more sense about it than most of us!

I just love his face as it all begins to dawn on him just before the interview. It's magical.

That Ghostbusters is ****ing shameful. Stop ruining my childhood, you bastards!

On the other hand, Sophie Turner looks excellent in Xmen.

    Also, Team Iron Man.

Finished work too late last night to get down to Kelvin's testimonial, so instead, after dinner and properly settling down to relax (it was late) I watched A Walk in the Woods [2013] based on the book by Bill Bryson. It stars Robert Redford, Nick Nolte, with cameos from Emma Thompson and Mary Steenburgen. I'd not read the book but it definitely has the feel of a Bryson. The humour is gently pointed and real, and the overall feeling is that one is in safe hands. Redford sometimes plays Bryson a little too seriously for me, and his emotions are a tad stilted, but he's not wildly out. Could have had some face fuzz and specs though, so as to look like the real thing. Nick Nolte is very good, if you can hear his words from the voice that he has left nowadays. The two actors reflect the uneasy distant yet ultimately buddy existence they reforge by walking together in America's magnificent Appalachian Trail. Recommended for Bryson fans.
