It's an extreme form of what is called a teratoma. They don't always show signs of hair and teeth etc. but rarely they happen in humans.
Yes, I only read about this just the other day on something totally disconnected. Apparently, teeth can grow within the nose, the EYES [for pete's sake], the brain, and out of several areas of the body because the tissue is acceptable. There might be nothing new under the Sun, but by goodness, you learn something new every day.
I know. I can't believe it. One of the iconic figures from the time I've been alive. Shock announcement after fighting cancer for 18 months
I was born in the era of Dance Bowie, which preceded Grunge Bowie (and for a certain generation, more importantly: shortly before Labyrinth Bowie) but followed Stardust Bowie. He might be the only musician that managed to be iconic no matter one's generation, while being iconic for vastly different reasons depending on one's age.
My 13 year old daughter has just come in and said, "Dad, David Bowie's died"... I hadn't realised he had even reached her generation... I rest your case.
So, so, so gutted. The greatest inspiration gone. Even in death he goes out a genius though - no need to have one of those launches to get him to number one - he's at number one already. Blackstar was a parting gift to us, and we never knew.
Groom speech that talks about his special someone who means so much to him. His new bride wipes away a tear as her Groom asks everyone to raise a glass ..... .... to Mezit Ozil and points to a picture of Ozil beamed up on the wall. Funny. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/a...-dedicated-Arsenal-footballer-Mesut-Ozil.html
I think that was the magic he had. I bought Hunky Dory when it came out and was blown away, so I went back and investigated (I'm a bit like that with music and artists I come across) to see what else he had done. The Man Who Sold the World was amazing too and I still play Space Oddity (the album as well as the single). Then he moved on - I saw the "Ziggy" tour in Southampton in 72 or 73 (can't remember - too many years ago!) and it was amazing. Personally I think those were the greatest years and after Heroes, I kind of lost interest, but I acknowledge how important he was in music and how his music was always up there with the latest trends. Another legend gone and who will be tomorrow's legends? I don't think there'll be any to be honest - modern music (at least the "popular" stuff) is too plastic. We need more Fables and independent artists to make it big and show everyone that music doesn't have to be manufactured, there IS talent out there .......... Very sad today ...........
