Another one! If taffy had kept all the people that have been banned he'd have trebled the current membership.
If Roland is going to gamble on promotion it would make sense for him to back KR in the transfer window. However, making sense is not Roland's strong point.
I doubt if he even cares very much. What happens to Charlton Athletic matters greatly to us because of the unbreakable bond we have with it. But to him it is a small part of something he was spending some time on as little more than a hobby - a social experiment that didn't work out. His indifference used to drive me mad, but I appreciate now it is just one of those things that cannot be helped and must be ignored in turn. Only the Belgium 20 have even piqued his notice by taking the matter to his doorstep a few times and making a nuisance of themselves. As much as it hurts us to witness what RD's ownership has done to our Club so far, as people who believe in the rule of law and peaceful protest only we are powerless to influence a man who never had any empathy with the Club, and who obviously has no respect for how we feel. But as they say Mr Duchatelet; monkey see, monkey do. RD's hallmark indifference has been turned against him by Charlton supporters, and has so far been the only form of protest on these shores that has hurt him. Thousands of fans who now stay away from the Valley, and will not return until he is gone. They - and the rest of us - have no choice but to wait patiently until the day when we are finally free of him and his regime. It may be soon, or it may not. But it will come, and it will be a day to celebrate and to remember.
POsitive progress on the take-over, according to Swisdom, a poster on CL who is involved in the building work at Sparrows Lane.
Closely enough connected to the club to be an apologist. He won't have a bad word to say about squirrel face. We have had many exchanges.
He says it's very close, there's just a hurdle with one of the directors. He also admits the info is at least second hand. Shock horror! Robinson told us that the reason we weren't buying a striker was that the money was being spent on the Academy. If the CEO had come out with that one there would have been howls of derision.
Hello folks. It's so long since I've participated here many/most of you won't have come across me before, if you pardon the expression. Being several thousand miles away and not getting to games (although I was at the fun-fest v The Wombles on Saturday) I tend to think I'd have a damn cheek offering an opinion. And I did, to be honest, get a little cheesed orf with some of the in-fighting that was going on at the time. In any case despite the fact that I am indeed my own favourite subject, on to the real reason for posting which I hope you will appreciate. Affiliated as I am to someone who must be consulted in any takeover process I can offer the following; What was recently reported in the VOTV by RE was mostly bollocks However there is a takeover in the pipeline but still plenty to do I was given and can offer no more than that with NDAs flying around left right and centre but I hope that, at least, confirmation that something is definitely afoot and not just a trick of the world famous PR machine is of use to you. If none of this is new news and has been covered previously in this thread then my apologies....I only read this page! COYR!!
Thanks, Red. My special bottle of single malt will remain in the cupboard until the take-over is signed sealed and delivered.
Whatever is happening with a potential takeover - the press seem reluctant to run a story, and NDA’s will have little to do with that now it’s out in the Charlton stratosphere. But I hope it’s good news for all. I hope this will be a “best kept secret” scenario
