Andrew Muir, the "Good Guy", sounds quite similar to Roland. He made his fortune in electronics and household appliances before deciding to become a philanthropist, and is on the board of Essendon Football club. Somebody Roland could do business with.

Murray has overseen 10 years of failure - who in their right mind would want him to continue.

Notice BB keeps mentioning PE’s name.

Never known someone to talk so much crap, but with so much conviction? Guess that’s impressive somewhere.

Colin (BB) says that Paul Elliott is behind the Australian buyer, so we can rule that one out with certainty.

He messaged me on Twitter a while back asking about PE. He appeared to take my silence as a yes and has run with it since. Odd man.

I don't know anyone at Charlton by name so i'm a pretty neutral party. My only experience of Everitt is as a complete tosser, he dismissed me out of hand as a nobody when I just wanted to buy his mag.

I can't stand first among equals fans, I don't give a **** what he did in the 90s, he's not royalty.

Nobody should dismiss you Junior when it comes to Charlton, you are probably in the top 1% when it comes to following Charlton across land & sea <ok> closely followed by @Bring back Willie Thorne

He treats most with little respect but is blindly followed by some.

Let’s just hope he knows something not many others do in this case and it’s not a rouse to sell a rag.

One thing that really gets my goat is the notion of 'Royalty' or class division among Charlton fans.
Respect of course, for supporters who go beyond the call of duty. But there should be no 'elite' who demand deference from others.

Why not? We've got the metropolitan elite, the Liberal elite, the international elite. I don't know what they are, but why not the Charlton elite?:emoticon-0105-wink:

Cool heads are casting doubt on the likelihood of the takeover happening (Dickp, Ben Hayes, while SuperC has not heard anything). As you were.

"Imminent" is not a word easily misinterpreted.

I have never criticised Rick Everitt or VOTV before as far as I can recall, but their already challenged credibility will suffer greatly - even in the eyes of folks like me who are usually willing to give the benefit of the doubt - if nothing happens.

The only thing worse than having to put up with this appalling regime is having false hopes raised again that we might soon be free of it.

It wouldn't be the first time either, Lardi, that's why I'm not overly excited. Once bitten etc.

To be fair, due dilligence is by no means a guarantee of a sale. It would be a perfectly normal outcome to get a long way into the buying proccess but halt it if the numbers don't make sense. Personally I have mo insight at all into what's going on, but some of what was written on CL suggests the ongoing debt to Staprix is around 55 million, which includes the money RD spent buying the club. If he wants all that back plus interest and plus a few million for himself, you can see why Charlton are a VERY expensive purchase at the moment, way beyond their actual value in a hard headed business sense.
Plus Super reckons his source thought nothing was going on.

Karl Robinson said after yesterday’s game that a senior member of the Board (Meire) phoned him on Friday to say that the takeover rumours were “false”.

Rick Everitt said again last night that Due Diligence is almost complete, and that Keith Harris was acting as a conduit to sell the Club.

Colin Sams (Bexley Boy / Pea Brain) says that Paul Elliot is behind the takeover.

    Who to believe ?

Whoever the owner is, it is clear to everyone who has watched our games this season (which rules out Reams) that with the addition of two strikers in January we have a realistic chance of promotion. We badly need cover for Magennis, not least to give him a rest, plus a second striker to play off him.

It will be the ultimate betrayal, even by Belgian standards, if Robinson gets us in the top 4 in January yet the RD wallet remains firmly closed.

One thing is for certain - it is pointless signing any more journeyman loans like Dodoo.

Don't worry. Robinson has said that we're having a "right go" in the January transfer window. Not that we'll do anything, just have a go

Karl Robinson must be used to Katrien Meire lying to him by now; nobody believes a single word she says. And of course the regime would claim the take-over rumours are false - in any aspect of life every rumour is officially denied until it comes true.
I'm not saying the take-over will happen, just that I put no store in a denial from the board.
Interesting that they should feel it necessary to comment at all, even indirectly.

Assuming RD is still the owner in January, if the squad is weakened by sales and not strengthened properly in the transfer window, it will be the most blatant example (but only the latest of many) of the mismanagement of our Club by these clowns. I would not be surprised at all.
