Good luck Qwerty, it'll probably be stressful and you'll be glad to be done with it when it's over but try to enjoy it! (Married life, not the wedding)
 
Congrats and commiserations to Mr and Mrs Qwerty. They always say the trick to a successful marriage is telling your partner how much you love them, so just make sure to keep reminding her she'll never be as special as Southampton.

I read a story online of a fairly heavy set guy who started saying that at the end of his best man speech, it went:

I prefer that! I'm Best man again in November (small wedding, so speech will be non-riotous). May use that one.

Have to say that the happiest time in my life was being married. It is sure to be yours too if you play it right and it will take a bit of effort. One tiny bit of advice if you'll accept it - don't rush into parenthood. Enjoy yourselves for several years first. After all, you picked each others company only and you won't need anyone else in the band for a long, long while. Hope you both have a great day, and see you on Sunday [as if..! ;) ]

So you're getting married. I didn't think people did anymore. I hope you are as blissfully happily married as is possible.

Some advice:

A happy marriage takes effort.
Tell her at least once every day that you love her.
Tell her often that she is beautiful.
Give her lots of hugs and kisses every day.
Never go to bed angry with her sort it out.
Know when to say sorry.
Know which arguments are worth winning and which aren't.
Give her little surprises every so often. Not too often or she will expect it but often enough that she will know you love her.
As your wife she is the most important person in the world to you and you must never let anyone or anything come between you.
Never do anything that will make her resent you so do your share of the domestic chores.
Take her breakfast in bed every once in a while.
Never ever say "Can I help you with your housework?"
Have plenty of romantic interludes and never turn her down when she is feeling romantic.
Keep talking and sharing.
Keep some time for yourself and keep yourself interesting to her by retaining a degree of independence.
Have interests which you share but also have interests of your own.

And lastly the day she stops talking to you is the day it is all over which is a day I hope you never reach.
 
Enjoy your day the Qwertys, remember its your wife's day not yours.
And don't blink because you will miss it today it will fly by.
Glad to see you had more sense than me ,I got married during the football season and when we went to Cuba for two weeks honeymoon I had to get people to text me score updates because I was so far away. Much to the wife's annoyance.
 
Some good advice from Godders and TSS. Just a couple if bits on that. I am ecstatically married and a great family life; we returned from honey moon pregnant and then had our second child born before our second wedding anniversary with both conceived within wedlock. This is my 14th year of happy marriage, so having kids early can work.

Secondly, I'll share the bit of advice that I was given the day before our wedding, whilst living in Wigan. This was from my wife's very Northern boss:

"Keep her well ****ed and short of cash; if she's well ****ed she won't go looking elsewhere for any and if she's short of cash, she won't be able to afford to go looking"

I apologise for the language but it is honest and funny advice which is actually pretty good. Qwerty, I dare you to use that in your speech!!

Enjoy your lives together and as Saint Godders said , Never go to bed not speaking , sort it out before hand !
