Off Topic The generation gap.

Me and a mate took the rams out of about 10 PCs in one of our school IT rooms right before one of our summer holidays. He knew a buyer, sold all of them for £400, 50-50 cut, felt like a baller during that summer, unlimited sweets and panda pops.

Used to rob pet stores when I was kid (before they put CCTV in every ****ing aisle!), my Nan and Grandad had two Labradors, they used to love it after my pet shop visits, big **** off bones, lovely biscuits, top notch stuff. My Nan used to give me a bollocking every time when I got in the car and showed them what I took but deep down I knew she admired my skills.

 

Line a bag with tin foil and it stops the alarms going off. Used to walk out of PC world with nuff copies of Norton security etc.

Trouble is kids these days aren't inventive enough.

 

And I disagree with that. Crime has actually been falling for decades, especially things like petty theft. There is a whole lot less sexual harrassment going on now; you pull that **** nowadays and you end up like Cosby or Weinstein, a public pariah. Do that in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's or 80's and you're just being a man.

What about racism? Long overlooked and tolerated. It's really only been the last 20 years or so society has taken an aggressive view against racism.

People used to beat up and mock people for being gay; nowadays noone gives a crap.


There are a heck of a lot of positive strides society has been making since WWII... Sure there have been a lot of negative ones too... But my point is. Society hasn't got worse. We haven't got more corrupt. Mores change, society changes. People stay people. No generation was better than another, it's just that young people of all generations are lazy ****s.

As for the whole millennials living at home with mum and dad trope, turns out it's not true. The generation that lived at home with mum and dad the most? That would be the WWII generation. Kids are actually more likely to be independent and go out and live on their own.

 

I was a Gigolo....I had bare gal...was selling the gifts they would buy me and they were all more than happy to dip into their purses because they loved me.

When I was 50 I probably thought exactly the same about your generation, It is hard to generalise, but you have to say that 16-24 year-olds have a far harder time time trying to get proper full time jobs these days as well as finding it even harder to find a home of their own to rent or buy. It’s no wonder they can be angry. I also thought your generation’s music was mostly crap. When they are our age they will probably feel like you do now and as I did about your lot. Now tbh I’m not bothered by them, I am out of the rat race and enjoying a comfortable retirement in the sun. Chill out. You will get there eventually

 

Your eldest sounds quite enterprising. I actually admire any young person who can mug off his old dad in this way

Not been irritated for a few days..

Until this morning. She is seemingly using the other bathroom when I'm in the shower thusly meaning my shower goes freezing cold or I get scalded. Which is the perfect start to my day.

That happens to me... the bastards do it on purpose I'm sure of it.
When it does happen I come out the bathroom growling like a cave man... they scarper the little **** bags.

I get them back though by randomly switching the internet off. No internet is like the world is about to end for kids.

On that subject - at work if we have a power cut or the internet cuts off it's ****ing bedlam. I'm not sure this generation could live without the internet, sad little ****ers.
