VAR should never have got involved in midweek. But this time, it was correct to. It was clearly onside from the first replay, without any need for lines. That is what VAR is for.

Yep. I still think the "solution" to VAR is some sort of time limit. If you can quickly see a decision is wrong then correct it but don't spend 5 minutes fiddling around with lines on a screen to see whether an attacker's knee was an inch closer to goal than a defender's nose.

Like everyone else here, gutted for Hearts Looks like the footballing gods were on Celtic's side. Hopefully, Hearts can do well in Europe next season and win a trophy, any trophy to end their prolonged drought and Celtic get embarrassed in Europe again.

Horrible for Hearts but felt inevitable after the Motherwell penalty.

Its still a key moment for Scottish football, if Hearts can keep their team together, build and have another crack then Scottish football can start to revive, if its a reversion to the mean then so many people will leave it behind for good.

This is supposed to be year 1 of a project for Hearts... it wasn't a bad start. Not a lot of consolation for them I'm sure, but they will have Champions League qualifiers to focus minds soon.

I feel that i'm on dicey ground saying this given where we are right now, but got to contemplate what should happen to Celtic if one of their fans has actually assaulted a Hearts player on the pitch at the end there (and not that it matters but full time didn't appear to have been called when it happened).
