At the end of the day it looks like both of those decisions are correct so VAR has added value there.

To be fair at Wembley the lino may have interpreted Bertrand to have been interfering with play, we simply don't know

 

The referee is fully entitled to look at it on a monitor himself so he can see what he's giving.

 

Think it's a definite pen, but with fouls it takes so much longer to evaluate than offsides and the like. A 30-second pause to get the decision right is good; if we're talking multiple 3-4 minute pauses, it really breaks up the flow, and it's still going to be subjective.

 

Yeah they can if they wish, did anyone encroach? Interested to see how often people are booked for it.
