Chilco! I have noticed you liked Schrodinger's cheap shot of a comment in response to something I said congratulating Glasgow Rangers on their good win. It was posted to see if anyone was willing to discuss beyond the wonders of PL sides participating in the EL last evening. It wasn't but there was no need for SC's sarcasm, which I think shows him up, and you giving the comment your approval. I expect better from you Chilco not to have taken such an unbalanced view. Rant over!!
Except that Rangers aren’t the wider football world, merely the current best of a very poor provincial league...
Don't care about Rangers Ides, except when we buy a player or sell a player to them. I also don't care who's top of the league in Croatia, or whether a team from Turkey wins the Europa league. I enjoy watching football, but I'm only really interested in Saints and what we do. As we don't even play Rangers, they are completely irrelevant to me. I honestly don't understand your interest in other teams success, and certainly not your idea that fans of other clubs have anything other than a purely partisan view of football.
You are supposed to be a moderator Chilco yet you have approved of one contributor taking the p*** at another's expense. I have never done this to anyone on the Southampton board yet you have allied yourself to someone taking a pot shot at someone else's expense when none was needed. You might be right that the SPL is poor but your statement just confirms your prejudiced view. So from a very poor provincial league Glasgow Rangers have done pretty well so far and have managed to outlast Leicster who are from an aristocratic league. Not that I wished any ill on Leicester by the way.
Schrodinger!! There was no need for your original sarcastic comment at my expense. And how do you know there isn;t an admiration from others on this board for Glasgow Rangers? Your original and follow-up comments at my expense and designed to get a few cheap laughs smells of arrogance. .
And if you really want to talk about Rangers with other people, this is the place: https://www.not606.com/forums/rangers.6/
So, maybe @The Ides of March isn’t having a great day. How about we cut him some slack, he is a great poster and I care about him. Ides, I had a ****ing terrible week, with the worst depression on Mon- Weds I have ever, ever known. Ive never suffered it before. Not suggestion you have this btw, just dont want you feeling alone, and you are a little ‘rant-y’ today. Chin up pal, happy to DM if you want
Is "trolling" having an opinion the majority don't agree with? Because that's the impression I've been getting lately.
Terribly sorry if I've upset you Ides, you're perfectly entitled to post what you like on here. As am I And my default mode is sarcastic/piss taking. I am just a child really. . Don't let me put you off contributing further though.
I have never been a fan of that club, indeed my inward preference is for Celtic. I can see where you are coming from regarding sectarianism, but I would hppe that the club are trying to educate their fans in that respect. Having said that let's give credit where it is due, They have performed very well so far in the EL which is in stark contrast to Celtic's underwhelming performances, on the field this season and their conduct off the field with their trip to Dubai.
I’ve never liked Rangers since we played them at the Dell in the 70s (cup game? Friendly?) and their fans pissed all over me and my mates where we stood under the stand (only tickets we could get) because they were too pissed and couldn’t be arsed to go to the bogs ..... Sadly, there were too many of them to risk starting anything .... Hated the club and their poxy supporters since ......
Sorry to hear that you had to have such a bad experience so I am not surprised you have the view that you do so I suppose it is nigh on impossible to feel anything positive about them. I don't know what their supporters are like these days. I suppose some are still bellends whilst others are normal football fans who take a dislike to anything in green and white. On the subject of booze, do stewards or police anywhere, ever refuse entry to guys who are a little bit intoxicated on arrival at the ground? I see it as the dame as turning up at the airport and being refused boarding on an aircraft due to too much imbibing.
