More like "the recesses of Google" on that one. I don't remember where I lived in 2010, much less who we played in the cup!

 

If current results (namely, the Inter - Gladbach match) hold, Real Madrid will need to win their final CL group match against Gladbach or they'll get to experience the excitement of Europey in a few weeks' time.

Edit: Gladbach scored about two seconds after I wrote that, naturally.

Fred headbutt (more of a head flick) , ref looks at VAR monitor and gives a yellow card.


I thought ref could only give nothing or red after VAR, and that yellow's not even an option?

 

The VAR can't advise referees to look at potential yellow card offences just potential red cards. The referee is entitled to show a yellow if he doesn't feel it's serious enough for a red.

 

Interesting - is that a Champions League rule or a Premier League rule too?

I had always understood it to be red or nothing (in the same way if ref gives a no foul but VAR shows it to be a foul outside the box, the ref can't then give a free kick as it's simply reviewing penalty or no penalty)

 

Shame to see Lazio losing with Hoedt in their defence.
