Southgate needs to make a much much better selection next time around, this is every bit the mess it looked like it would be when the squad was announced. I mean no left backs, seriously?
I know it's Kane, but what's he done to justify playing most of the 180 minutes over the 2 games. He's looked rusty and off the pace.

I do sadly think Southgate is the Koeman of England managers. A good season where the blocks fall into place, and everyone thinks he’s the messiah. Edit: he is a nice bloke though, so there’s that difference.
I think he's handled the transition to younger players well and has improved us being more comfortable on the ball. How well he's actually doing will be answered next summer. Wouldn't expect anything better than the 1/4s though, we're still very average in two extremely important positions in central midfield and in defence.
