There's a reason why Banega has long been one of my favourite players. He could have contented himself with merely being a very good playmaking midfielder, but no: he has to be absolutely ****ing nuts. Top man.

Oh! Real Madrid play Sevilla. I cannot believe you would want Real Madrid to win.

 

Any team with the hero that is Sergio Ramos is fine by me

 

What? Real Madrid, Barca, Rangers and Manchester United are the teams I live seeing beaten. Just can't stand them. As for Ramos, it is time for him to be moved on. Real, like Barca have a lot of oldies.

 

Rangers over Celtic any day of the week.

 

It would be good to see both usurped by Hibs!

Compared to some of the KO matches - and the EL final - I thought that was a huge let down. But Bayern did deserve to win.

And the only goal scored by a Frenchman. PSG have a wonderful array of gifted players, but their tetchiness letvthem down. Anyhow, well done Bayern who have definitely improved after losing to Liverpool.

 

FC Elche, finished 6th in the Spanish 2nd division, but yesterday won the playoff final (2 leg affair) with a 96th minute winner.
Anyone who has landed at Alicante airport, with an approach overland, might have looked down at the smallish town just short of the airport and spotted the football ground. This is Elche, a team I planned to watch when they were last in La Liga (one season wonder I think) but never had the opportunity. Maybe next season, if travel becomes safer as it is just a 25 minute drive from my place in Spain.

I would love to watch Messi live at St Mary's. I know with City and Liverpool we've seen plenty of world class players but Messi is Messi. Arguably the greatest player ever in the history of the game. It would be very surreal watching him play at St Mary's!

 

Newell's? Sounds like there is a clause in Messi's contract where it can be terminated and he can walk out, so he could go back to Argentina.

 

Typical if he comes to England when no ****er is allowed in to watch him. Probably have his leg snapped by Ben Mee by the time crowds are back.
