In a way, that’s better. Give it to them without it being completed and we can always talk about the asterisk ... Carry on two games, they win it outright. Don’t give it to them and they’ll always claim it. there’s something poetic about them being given a false one.
Couldn't agree more. Maybe they could have a specifically made 3/4 size trophy too? Some of them will pretend it means the same but deep down they'll know it won't. Be even funnier if they didn't count any other position. Everyone will remember they were given rather than awarded it
You're right, they're crapping themselves they are going to have to give some money back if it's not completed. But there's not going to be a satisfactory finish unless the league can be completed before the start of next season.
Many have been critical of Karen Brady, but with little sign of re-start bold decisions need to be made. And what a coincidence it is being made by non-league clubs and not the mighty PL who have called time on the season. And in Europe the lead hasn't been taken by the mighty La Liga, Serie A or Bundesliga, but by the Dutch and Belgian Leagues. When it comes to Spain, I do not think the players Will fancy playing in 35 to 45 degrees of heat. And UEFA need to be bold and scrap next season's club tournaments to allow the game to get back up and running again in the domestic leagues.
So the sacred cash cow of the PL is put before public health, safety issues, common sense, let alone the planning. As Tottenham are not going to win a thing this season, they could get the backing of the other PL sides in terminating the season now. Time to show the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea that the PL is not all about them.I am with WHU on this.
But it is all about them. We all know the PL is all about self interest. If anyone takes the lead it won't be for fans safety or staff security or any other altruistic reason. And of course Karen Brady isn't making a bold decision it's the fear of losing a seat on the gravy train.
With so many clubs in that zone, she should be able to garner support from almost half the PL, including I would hope SFC. I am also thinking of the planning going foward. It would be better to null and void the season, and start a new oñe in August or whenever. And unclutter the calendar by dropping the Caribou Cup, Charity Shield, European Club competitions, and internationals until the autumn of 2021. Yeah, I would drop the Euros for next summer as well. And when football begins again, it could open with the final of the ????? Cup between Salford City and Portsmouth.
So you don't agree with me. Fair enough! But instead of a cheap sarcastic comment, I'd like to know your view.
